Music and Love

"I said she is going and we are not arguing about this again Jodie," dad shouted from the living room. It was another morning of my dad and stepmom arguing.

"You love her and favor her more than May and Mary," Jodie Shouted back angrily.

" Well that is because you and your daughters can't show her love. So obviously I have to love her more to compensate for the love you can't show her, " dad shouted annoyed.

" So now they are my daughters! They are our daughters Sherlock! OUR DAUGHTERS! "Jodie screamed making me flinch in my seat in the dining room.

" Don't you think Babi has gone through enough already? She lost her mom. Please just give her the love she deserves," dad said bit softly but loud enough for me to hear. After that the place became silent. I actually felt sad and guilty whenever dad and Jodie fought because of me.

"You are the reason why they are always fighting brat!" Mary furiously whispered at me throwing daggers at me with her eyes.

"They never fought before. We all were happy before you showed up here!" May added. I just stayed silent staring down at my breakfast feeling a bit more guilty but I was already used to their harsh words and even sometimes beatings. Felt like I was re-living Cinderella's. I mean evil step mother and step sisters, the only difference was my dad was still alive and unfortunately no fairy godmother and a prince, maybe he would come later in life.

When they heard heavy footsteps of dad coming into the dining room they looked down at their food.

" Good morning ladies" he greeted as he took a seat near me then Jodie followed seating between Mary and May.

"Morning dad" we replied in unison with a smile.

Dad then turned to me," you will be going to school Babi" he told me with a grin.

" Really,,,thanks dad. Which school I'm I going to?" I asked taking a sip of my tea.

"Royal high" he answered with a bright smile.

"WHAT!!!!" May and Mary exclaimed dropping their forks and I choking on my tea. I couldn't believe it! Royal high one of the most expensive school. It is sponsored by a music records known as The Royal Music Records which has 2 famous bands, The Kings and The Queens plus some other famous artists.

"Dad, that is the most expensive school!" I said still in shock. "Yeah" both Mary and May almost screamed.

"Uh-huh, and that is where Babi will be going," he answered unbothered by the girls reaction.

" But dad why would you take her there yet you never took us there even after us begging you. That is not fair!" May said quite upset about it.

" You love her more than us" Mary added glaring at me.

" Stop whining like babies both of you. You are now grown up and in College. Plus it's not like you died after not going there and I love you all equally"dad told them adding a bacon on his plate and pancake to mine with a smile which I returned.

" You sure do love them equally" Jodie commented sarcastically rolling her eyes making dad throw her a glare.

" I'm sure there are other great schools dad. Maybe I could go to May's and Mary's previous school?" I suggested making dad's stern gaze switch to me from Jodie but turned softer when landed on me.

" There were darling but I want you to study in the best school okay,,," I just nodded with a smile as the rest stared at me jealousy written allover their faces.

" So when am I going again?" I asked him.

" Tomorrow morning. I will be taking you, so make sure you wake up early."

"That soon!"

" Yes sweetie so that you get to catch up with your studies. You have already missed alot" he said patting my hand on the table.

"Okay" I replied with a nod.

"I have to go to work now" he said wiping his mouth with a napkin before standing and gave everyone a kiss on the cheek before leaving. He works in a government tech lab as a researcher.

When he left I also stood up to go to my room not wanting to spend even a second with the trio.

" Where the hell do you think u're going?" Jodie asked before I could even take a step away from the dinning table with the plate and cup I and dad used to take them to the sink.

"Uhm, kitchen then my room,,,"

"First clear the whole table and make sure you wash the dishes." I obediently did as she asked me to do. Just as I was cleaning the last bit, Mary called me back by the nickname the had given me, 'baby'. I just looked back at her with a raised eyebrow.

"When you are done make sure you clean my room before I get back from school" she said with a smug expression.

" Mine to" May said standing up. Without a word I finished the dishes before going to their rooms to clean them since if I didn't do as they say, I would have receive tortures which sometimes left scars and I couldn't tell dad about since they threatened me.

As I was cleaning May's room which I was sure she trashed it on purpose, she came in wearing my clothes.

"Why are you wearing my clothes?" I had to ask.

"You have more than enough clothes. These are now mine." She replied with no care as she fixed her make up at the dressing table.

" But you and Mary keep on taking my clothes!" I almost cried.

" Shut the hell up baby!!! Remember, not a single word to dad other wise you will regret it!!! " She threatened holding me by the collar of my blouse, " have I made my self clear?" She asked pulling me closer to her caked up face. I just nodded in reply.

She then pushed me away making me stumble backwards almost falling on my ass. Luckily I caught my self.

" Now, why don't you be a good girl and finish up. I'm leaving for school."

Soon they all left leaving me alone at home doing all the chores in the huge house since Jodie fired all the maids excuse being that having '4 girls' in the house, apparently was 'enough to keep it clean', but obviously made me do all the work claiming I was the idle one and took all the credit. Thanks God I was now going to school.

By the time I was done it was after 5pm so I immediately started preparing supper. Jodie was in her room while May and Mary were relaxing in the living room waiting for the supper. Dad had called earlier and said not to wait up he would be late home. After supper, I did the dishes before retiring to bed early so that I could get enough rest for tomorrow. Wouldn't want to show up to school with eye bags.

Next morning I woke up earlier than I usually did full of energy and got ready before going down stairs to prepare breakfast. Just as I was setting up the table everyone except dad came down for breakfast. Dad came later and joined us.

"Morning dad" I greeted excitedly not being able to contain my excitement as the others rolled their eyes at me.

"Morning dear. I can see you are ready"

"Yeah,, I'm actually even done here" I said clearing my plate before taking it to the sink.

"I'll be waiting for you in the car" I told him taking his car keys and left without even bothering saying bye to the others. Dad came about 20 mins later and first made a stop at the supermarket to pick up few things for school before heading to school.

" Hey dad, do you think maybe I will meet celebrities there?" I asked excitedly

"I don't know,,, maybe" he answered with a shrug and smiled at my excitement.
