Prologue: Part 1

I pushed up the black sand of what was once Iwo Jima, my boots getting soaked because of the storm pouring down on us. I took a glance towards my comrades, who were waiting for me in the middle of the beach. I'd jog towards them, hoping suddenly I or my team wouldn't get taken out by a sniper.

"Hey Carter! Over here!" Says my Squad Leader, Sergeant McLain. He was the veteran of the group. He had served the first 2 years of the T.H.O. Resistance, and had fought multiple things, including the T.H.O.'s MK-IV "Titans." He's a tough S.O.B. but he is effective when it comes to tactics.

As I reach my squad, he sets out a holo-map from his wrist mounted HUD.

"Alright. Squad Alpha is pushing forward onto the main gateway with Gray Wolf and the rest of the armored columns. We are going to go along with Fireteam Kilo along the left side of the beach, leading into the coastal hangars of the T.H.O.'s depot while Fireteam Maroon and Squad Charlie push right into the ammo stash. Got it?"

We all nod to the plan, understanding the mission assigned for us.

"Alright, let's get to work, people." He finally says before standing up and leading the way.
