The Forgotten Kid

Hi, I'm Chloe and I have 3 brothers and 1 sister. Now that I got my license I have been going everywhere in my car. I love driving. It takes my mind off of all the stress and school work. I never have time to anymore. I'm 17 years old and I work at a clothing store. I love my job but that leaves me no time to ever go anywhere with my car. I love going places, but the moment I get out of school, I have to go to work. I never get time to myself. Lately, I've just been sneaking out at night to go drive around doing nothing else but drive. I am a straight-A student. I have lots of friends, but I just feel lonely sometimes. I even have a boyfriend. Sometimes it feels too good to be true like I'm in a simulation or something like my life is a lie and I'm just waiting to wake up from a dream. I just don't feel like myself. One night I was doing my usual and sneaking out to go for a drive. I always go through my window and I keep it open so I can get back in my room without waking up my parents so I don't get caught, I don't go anywhere in particular just for a little night drive but tonight was different it didn't feel right but I just brushed it off my shoulder, when I looked up BAM a car in front of me and I got into a crash. when I woke up I look at the time it was about four thirty in the morning and I had to go home because i had to wake up at 5 o'clock to get to school but when I got home the ladder wasn't there which I just thought maybe it fell, but it wasn't there anymore so then I climbed up to my window and it was locked which is unusual because I always leave my window open when I go out but I just thought maybe my brother closed it so I went to the front yard to see if the front door was unlocked and it was locked which is not unusual so then I go to the back door and it's unlocked so I go through there and I go upstairs I open my bedroom door and stand there, scared out of my mind because someone's in my bed but it wasn't my sister so I run to my parents room yelling, MOM, DAD, someone's in my bed they get up out of bed and look at me with anger and horror as my dad yells “GET OUT OF MY HOUSE” as i look at mom and say “mom whats wrong” because shes looking at me with horror and she says with a shaking voice “who are you, what are you doing here” i look at my mom with a shocked face “ mom its me your daughter chloe” but she looks at me with a shocked face and said “ i dont know who you are” I run into my brothers room but that's not my brother it's a female's room and its a girl in the bed so i thought it was my sisters room and i was in the wrong room so then I go to the next room and it's another female room with another girl in the bed so that's when I know something's wrong because I only have one sister so then I go to the next room and it's a boys room, and a boy in the bed but it's my sisters room so then I go to the next room and it's another boy so I was thinking I was in the wrong house but then why would my parents be in the house? Those are my parents. It makes no sense so I grab some money and I just go to a motel for the rest of the night. I just think my parents are playing a prank on me. I woke up in the morning at 6 o'clock and I was late for school so I get up in a hurry and get ready and run to the school and as I get into my class my teacher looks at me with confusion and says “are you lost” but I have been in that class for 6 months already and my teacher doesn't know who I am? But she says “sit down” so I do next to my bestie but then she said “hi I'm ava who are you” I look at her and laugh “you already know who I am nice joke all of you” but she looks at me with a serious face and says “I'm sorry but I don't know who you are can you tell me your name?” So I tell her my name is Chloe and we start talking then the bell rings and I go to lunch and one of my friends who I didn't think remembers me but he yells out “CHLOE COME SIT OVER HERE!” As he waves me down and I go sit down “how do you remember me kai” I said but he looked shocked and said with a stuttering voice “wait you know who I am?” I didn't understand him because no one knows who i am so i told him that i didnt know how he remembers me because no one seems to remember me but he says he remembers me because we have met each other before but he's confused because no one remembered him today and i told him no one remembered me either so we were both confused why no one remembered us so why do we remember each other, then the bell rings as we are about to go back to class kai says “let's ditch school since no one knows us” i agreed with him and we left to the motel i rented but then a worker came to the door to have me sign a paper to stay another night which seems usual but their was a problem i couldn't remember my own name so i was going to ask the person next to me but what was his name i couldn't remember so i ask who are you but he says that he doesn't know who he is or who i am but how do i sign the papers to stay if i don't remember my name i guess im going to have to leave with no where to go so i leave and i go outside where i run into my parents and they smile and walk past me like they dont know who i am and im confused maybe they forgot but something is going on i don't even know who i am but just then i got a idea i need to check my phone. I grab my phone and open it but there's a passcode and I don't know it, so how am I supposed to get my name to go places? I check my pockets and I have $100 in my pockets but I don't know where to stay without my name. Do I come up with a name? What should I do? Without my name without a place to stay without anyone knowing who I am, I'm a nobody I don't even have shelter but I need to do something about it, I'm going to find that boy and we are going to find our names together, and figure out a way for everyone to remember us again so we can live a normal life again but I forgot what the boy looks like how do I find him if I don't know what he looks like or his name I can go to the motel and ask them they might even know my name as I walk into the motel I ask them “hi I was in room 402 with a boy is there a way you can pull up camera footage for me so I can see what the boy looks like?” The front desk lady looks at me looking angry and said “nice prank if you don't get out I'm calling the police you were never here” I look at her and tell her it was not a prank and that I need to look at it but she tells me she has never seen me before but she was the lady who checked me in for my room but she was no help she couldn't remember me so I guess I need to figure it out on my own so I go back to the school and there is one boy who sounds like a voice I know then it hits me, it's the boy then his name hits me its kai “KAI OVER HERE!” I yell for him but he doesn't respond so i go up and tap him on the shoulder and he turn and asked who i was and i tell him i don't know and he tells me he doesn't know his name either and i told him his names kai then he has a shocked look on his face and says “omg i know you your names chloe” i told him now that we both know our names we need to figure out how to get people to remember us again so we can have our lives back to normal “how do we do that” kai says i tell him i don't know but we need to figure it out “ I GOT IT” he yells “ what were you doing the night before people forgot us” kai said “doing my drive like always but then i got into a crash and when i woke up and no one remembered who i was” i said he looks at me with a shocked face and says “ that's what happened to me that same night we both thought it was weird but then i got a idea "what if we recreate the night that we got into the crash" he looks at me and wideneds his eyes and says "no way am i going to crash on purpose what if one of us dies or it doesnt work and we just hurt ourselves for no reason" I look at him with sad eyes and say "i know but its worth a try we have to its the only way i can think off" but he doesnt want too hes to scares but i cant think of anything else to do other then that its the only way but he wont so im going to have to find another way without him knowing but i need to figure out what happend that night to reverse it to go back to normal and go back to my family and all my friends because i miss them all but he needs help me with it i cant do it without him hes my only friend right now hes the only one who knows who i am and hes the reason i could figure out hes the one i crashed into but i know what i need to do, i need to go to the same spot at the same time that the crash happend and maybe my answer will be there and i can reverse all of this but if its not their what do i do i need my life back im so scared of losing everyone i love forever then i think and I have an idea. I go up to Kai and tell him "I'm sorry I have to do this. I'm so sorry I have to leave you but I need to do this. I'm sorry,". I walk off and see kai in the corner of my eye crying I can't get distracted by him anymore I need to focus on how to reverse this and get everyone to remember me again I miss my boyfriend and my family and my friends I miss everyone but I can't focus on that right now I need to focus on getting this reversed and going back to school again I can't even believe I'm going to say this but I even miss my bully picking on me because no one is even giving me the attention I miss hugging and kissing my boyfriend but I can't get distracted at 2:35 in the morning I'm going to the scene of the crash and I'm going to find something anything I don't even care at this point I have been sleeping on benches for 2 whole weeks now I'm almost out of money I need to find something anything even if that leads me to another clue just something that helps me get my life back to the way it is but it's getting late I should hit the hay.

When I woke up it was 2:00 and I needed to go to the scene of the crime, so I hopped into my car and left. Once I got there I saw something that left me standing there with my mouth wide open. It was my driver's license that I thought I lost but it wasn't where the crash was, the crash wasn't next to the woods or was it? I don't know but I didn't think it was so I walked up to my license and grabbed it but then I saw something in the woods it was something lighting up so I go to it and it was just a video tape, so I grab it and go to a store, but it was closed so I decided to go in the morning as long as I make sure it doesn't get stolen as I fall asleep again, so I'm going to hide it in my shirt. When I woke up the tape was still there so I grabbed it out of my shirt and headed to the shop. When I get there I say "excuse me I need some help please" and they turn around and greet me so I tell them I need to play this tape in private, they lead me to a room with a tv I can put the tape in and leave the room, I play the tape and all it says is “I know you want people to know who you are Chloe and I will help but you need kai with you or I will not help you and before you ask where's kai I have a riddle for you. The boy you seek is not far from thee you find him in the reflection of what he can see everywhere he looks. You have 3 hours or something will happen to kai'' then the video stopped then I thought, that means someone else knows who I am and did this to us but does that mean that kai is hurt or that they did something to him what if kai needs help and I only have 3 hours to find him what am I supposed to do what if I can't find him it would be all my fault. No no, I need to be focused I need to get this stuff off my mind, or else I will go crazy with the thought I don't even remember how to solve the puzzle I just need to calm down and figure this clue out ok so the reflection of what he can see with everywhere he looks everywhere he looks, reflection, I GOT IT a mirror but what place has mirrors everywhere you look? As i think i see a add on the screen of a abandoned mirror house but its a hour away and if i take to long to find him something could happen to him but i dont know what and i dont know when i need to hurry but i cant i looked and the directions of the place took me there ten minutes ago and now i dont have that much time left i have 45 minutes left because it took me longer to get their then i thought but when i got in i yelled his name and when he yelled back i could here his name everywhere it was echoing from left and right i didnt know where it was comming from so i just starting running and i could here his voice getting closer and closer i just kept running and with 10 minutes left i found him but he looked scared well i know people are usually scared if they get kidnapped but he looked a little too scared and when he saw me his eyes widened open really large and he kept shaking his head no and kept yelling at me its a trap and to run but i didn't want it too leave him their and their was less then 10 minutes left so i start looking around and i look up and their is a strang so i follow the string and see a net attached to it to trap me if i walk into the string so i walk over the string and untie him but we didnt know our way out with about 6 minutes left so we start bulting and running into mirrors but keep running then he starts pulling me and says "I see the exit just trust me" so I followed him because i really have no choice because hes pulling on my wrist. We make it out and he asked how I knew that he was there and I say "I went back to where the crash happened and I found a tape and I played it, it told me I needed to find you and gave me a riddle to find you and I solved it but I think we need to go back for tape number 2 if there is one but she said I needed you so I had to find you so let's go to the place I found the first tape" as I say that he looks at me with confusion and just agrees and follows me. We get to the woods where I found the first tape and there wasn't a tape but there was a piece of paper with the words "you will get the answers you're looking for at this address" and says an address on it but the address is my house I don't understand why my house will give me the answer to what I need but then it hits me so I run off to my house with kai following me the whole way but getting to the house I realized I had to tell him so I stop and turn around and say "it's time you know something" as he looks at me with a scared face and I take a deep breath and say " before I left for a drive that night I saw something, I saw a charm I have never seen before sitting on my nightstand and when I picked it up I felt weird but I brushed it off and left. If there's any way it could still be there that might fix everything but then when I left I saw a light flash in my room but I thought nothing of it, but it might be useful" then kai looks at me and says "that has to be it I don't know if it is but it's worth a shot if it's not then I don't know what to do chloe it might be useless if it doesn't help then I think we are going to have to deal with people not knowing who we are because it's been over a week and I'm ready to give up Chloe I'm so tired and hungry" but I look at him and tell him not to give up and that we can do this and we will get people to remember us and we can live a normal life again ok? Think of your family and friends, think of everything you love, and do not give up. He looks at me with tears in his eyes and tells me "i love my family and i miss them but i dont know if i can do this im just ready to give up" but im not going to let him give up today because I think i know the reason this happend and we need to go look so we start running to my house and he fell and when he got up their was blood all over his legs and i thought of a good idea so i tell kai that " i think that if they see you are hurt they will let you in and it gives me a chance to sneak into my room and see if the charm is in their" kai looks at me and agrees so we go to my house and knock on the door and no one answers so i knock again and we hear footsteps and my parents open the door and look confused then look at kai "omg your bleeding really bad please come in let is help you" my mom said but i new she would she has always been a caring person, i ask if i can use the bathroom and she tells me second floor 3rd door on the right so i go upstairs and open my bedroom door and their it is the carm but its on the girls neck and shes sleeping so i go in their and lightly take it off of her neck then she wakes up and screams "SOMEONES IN MY ROOM" no knowing her necklace is gone so my parents came upstairs and i say i was going to ask her where the bathroom is because i couldnt find it then my parents laugh and tell her im trying to find the bathroom so they lead me out and help me find it so i found it and they lead me in the bathroom. When I open the door and go downstairs kai is all bandaged up and my mom asked us "do you guys have a place to stay it looks like you have been in the same clothes for a long time so we look at each other and say we have no place to stay and she looks at us with a sad looking face " oh you poor kids you guys can stay in our guest room if you want and we have some clothes you can change into if you guys want" mom says then me and kai look at each other "only if you're ok with it ma'am" kai says and my mom nods and she has us follow her and she takes us to the guest room with 2 beds in it for us then she tells us to shower one at a time and she's going to start dinner. After we both shower she calls us down for dinner and introduces us to the family and we eat. After we eat we go upstairs and get ready for bed because we haven't slept in days, she gives us extra toothbrushes and we brush our teeth and get in bed, my mom comes up and tells us that she hopes we sleep well tonight and leaves, I look at kai with tears in my eyes and say “I missed her I missed dad I just want things to go back to normal kai" then I started balling and he comforted me and we fell asleep and woke up at 6 in the morning because my mom said she enrolled us into school and we were going to go to school. I walked into the school and froze in my tracks and started getting mad and Kai asked me what was wrong and I said "see those 2 people over their making out? Yeah well they where my best friend and boyfriend until people forgot who i was, I knew something was going on with those too" and i stormed out of their and ran home crying but no one was home the parents where at work and kai didnt follow me home it was just me at home so i grabbed the charm and went to where i found the tapes hoping to find something and their was nothing to find so I just went back home and went to my room and got in bed covering my self in lots of rage, anger and sad and left a single tear running down my cheack wetting what was not wet already by all then i heard someone come upstairs so i wiped my tears with the back of my hand and stood up to look who was their and it was kai he left school to come find me and cheer me up because he could tell i was crying he sat me down and said "i know its hard but you have me and if they remembered you they probably would've never gotten together but dont forget they don't remember who you are chloe, lets figure this charm out and leave tonight" i looked at him with tears in my eyes and tell him he's right and that sence they don't remember who i am they got together but they wouldnt never hurt me but sence they dont know who i am they didnt know they hurt me because in their eyes i never existed, i tell him "i think we should stay a little longer and talk to the sister about the charm im going to tell her when she gets home i found it on the floor at school and find more info on it" he

looks at me and hesitates "ok if that's what you want we can stay" then we both agree.
