One world, two times, two truths, and two codes.

The decisive weapons of the last great world war will not be kinetic. The weapons of this total war will be energy, money, and economies. It will be fought over an ideology that will eclipse nationality, borders, ethnicity, and race. This war will create two realities. The opening skirmishes of the last great war have already started.

One reality will continue from the old world order—an order in which time, truth, and code are social constructs. Man will find value in the time he works. His truth will be what he makes. The greatest achievement will be the birth of general artificial intelligence. AI will learn from the code, the time, and the truth of the old world. The promises of AI will be realized. Life expectancy will increase, and death and disease will decrease. Wars will no longer be the tools of politicians because there will be no politicians. Class warfare will no longer tear society apart. True egalitarianism will become a reality. People will not live in fear. AI will reign in a supreme centralized order.

The other reality will see the birth of The Renaissance of Man’s Reason. Time, truth, and code will no longer be social constructs but immutably certain. Man will regain his inherent value; his time will be his own. AI will deliver the promises of the future with increased life expectancy and decreased death and disease. Wars will no longer be the tools of politicians because there will be no politicians. Class warfare will no longer tear society apart. People will exist in autonomous, decentralized groups working toward the common goal of upholding unalienable individual rights. People will not live in fear. Men will no longer explore space to escape because earth has become what man has always wanted. Men will live in freedom where AI is a tool.

Han Tan is born into one reality and then finds the other. He lives in oblivion in his reality that has existed for one hundred and fifty years. He now faces a truth that he has never known.
