Chapter 1
Music: Taylor Swift - Everything has changed ft. Ed Sheeran
Cause all I know is we said, “Hello”
And your eyes look like comin’ home
All I know is a simple name
And everything has changed
All I know is you held the door
You’ll be mine and I’ll be yours
All I know since yesterday
Everything has changed
The music was upbeat, flowing through every corner of the studio as Jade jazzed.
The studio itself was warm and inviting with glasses on both the side of the walls and a balcony full of tropical flowering garden blooming from the first ray of sun makes the grand view of Paris even more beautiful.
The fresh morning air from the open windows is overloaded with a spirit so sensual and the lyrics which are down to earth beautiful are humming through every fiber of her skin as she glides, pivots and stretches to where her emotions carried her around the studio.
All the while with her eyes still blind folded. She moved her body in a rhythmic way focusing only on her soul as she expressed her ideas through dance.
This is what she loves the most. Simply getting herself lost in delight of the moment itself.
Slowly, the tune came to an end and died down completely, making the whole of the studio to resonate her hard breathing.
Out of blue a bunch of clapping hands surprised, more like spooked her wits out. Jade quickly took off that little piece of cloth and saw a group of cheering youths with wide smiles.
“Wow jade, you certainly out did yourself today. ” said Pavi, a teen artist with beautiful Asian features with mocha hair who walked in with a few of jade’s other students.
A chubby girl with wide curls practically jumped all over Jade, saying she was “amazing.”
“I wish I could Tourner like THAT. How do you even do that? ”
Jade simply smiled and discarded her blindfold in her backpack which is by the way sitting on a table where she left it earlier.
“THAT, Casey will come to practice. Trust me girl, you got all the equipment. You just have to believe in yourself and let your body do the rest.” Jade replied, taking a sip of her coffee which Alice, her assistant, passed onto her.
“Come on everyone, let’s shake this sexy body and do some dance.” Jade yelled.
Everyone started giggling at her sense of humour and just like that the class started.
Choreographing young youth was never difficult not it was easy either. Teaching dance moves was one thing but it don’t always stop there. With loving yourself more and backed up with self beleif one can do anything and go any height. And thats exactly what Jade wants them to beleive. Because for who believes, soon dance will automatically flow from body and no one can stop you till you finish.
After the classes end,
“And I am off to Lutry, you sure you can finish the last sequence without me because I can stay if you want. I could totally manage …” Jade started rambling.
Alice interrupted. “Jade? Shut up! Now off you go before I drag you out and put you in a cab.”
Smiling.“Love you lots.” Jade replied, giving Alice a hug.
Jade was fortunate enough to catch the first train that caught her eye, minutes before it leaves the station Paris Gare De Lyon at 7:23 am. Inside a train attendant helped her to look for her seat from the ticket which Jade was still holding in her hand.
Getting comfortable, Jade was beat. Working on the new sequence have worned her out. Hence decided, she might as well take a little nap on her way to Zurich. ‘After all she is a light sleeper what wrong would have come ’, she thought.
“Miss …”
“Miss …”
“Miss, please wake up”
“Ugh, mom let me sleep some more.” Jade replied, still sound asleep, with a drool so visible near her mouth. In her dream she had finally bought her studio off on a lease. Afterall the dream was no far from the reality, since it is all she ever dreamt of from the moment she wanted to be a dancer.
Giggling. The train attendant shook her shoulder a little and tried to wake her up again.
“Miss, you are at the end of the station. This is our last stop.” Said the lady in her late 30s. That did the trick.
“Wh- what?”
Jade woke up with a start, still confused and half asleep as to why she was still sleeping and why in all colours of the rainbow she was now being woken up by an attendant that too in a car which is nearly empty. This could mean only one thing.
“Where are we?“Jade asked, wiping the drool from her mouth, embarrassed.
“That would be Montereau.”
‘Oh no, her worst nightmare ’ Jade thought, ‘How can a grown butt women can end up ina situations as this?’ as she face plammed
“Is something wrong, hon?” The lady asked with concern, seeing Jade now wide eyes.
“No. No. Everything’s fine.” ‘Nothings fine. I’m in a deep pool.’ Jade thought as she replied with a smile.
Sometime later,
Exactly after the round trip of again taking an 4hours sappy train ride and 5hours at bus killing her knees bend uncomfortably, her suffering was no way near end. All this because of her taking that stupid nap. And lastly but not the least, the 2 hour at cab from Zurich was definitely not her daily cup of coffee. And here she is dragging her Volkswagen in Lutry’s cobblestoned sidewalks, at last. And all she wanted now was to get home to bed already.
“Need some help” a voice creaped up just behind her ear. Surprised, she dropped her suitcase and gave out a shrill out of horror.
“You spooked her, you idiot.” Shots another voice.
After a quick handshake, it turns out they are Toby and Sonny, the infamous identical looking townies of barely 16 who decided to make her a laughing stock and fantasise after her. To her disbelief, they took a notch up by fighting among themselves demanding Jade’s attention and who first saw her. Much to her jocking amusement, the down rightly fought right front of her making her Snicker laugh. ′ Thanks boys. Just what I needed right now. ′ She thought with dripping sarcasm.
Finally she reached her Nana’s home. A small Tudor style country home made of brick sidings and a garden of dreams with an artificial pond on the front yard oozed off an modern yet traditional glory to add to its charm.
Looks like no one was at home so Jade went to check out that chicken coop her mum was talking about earlier. Turns out it was exactly how she remembered except old. Even the door had that same painting she drew when she was little.
Awe … it seems her grandparents didn’t have the heart to paint it off. Smiling, she went inside, with given her slender size it was easy peasy. Inside, there were a dozen of chickens and several chicks welcomed her.
Suddenly an angry looking chicken came out of nowhere on top of the hay and began attacking jade.
‘Oh great! So much for a surprise visit. ’ she thought as she stumbled and fell on her knees, but that little Lucifer with wings and a beak of a devil continued chasing her.
Scared to her bones, Jade yelled, started thrashing everywhere and came out of the shed with a yelp. But even outside, it doesn’t seem to be done with her.
“What’s wrong with this chicken? ” Jade cried for help as she ran across the lawn with an angry chicken flying and chasing behind her.
