The Unexpected - Chapter 1

Young Olivia had always been curious about the real world. Never knew that one day she would experience it herself.

She had expected it to be wonderful and breathtaking but never thought that it would be like this.

She had grown-up with her parents in a nice cozy house that wasn’t all a big deal but was enough for the three of them. Things have been going great honestly, it’s like life was perfect and things would go like that forever. Eventually all good things must come to an end.

In a world like Olivia’s, soulmates existed in this world. It just came at random and you would know it when you felt it. Olivia had known of this before. That’s how her parents met. It was just a bond or instant click and things worked out great for them.

Her mom would tell her stories of their love and how soulmates worked. Olivia just loved love. Like her parents, she wished she could see herself like that with someone else. The girl remembers herself talking with her mom about soulmates. “Mommy, how do you know when you have found your soulmate?” the young girl asked. “Well, there’s this feeling or sensation that tells you have found it, like in your heart.” The mother pointed to her daughter’s chest. The girl sighed, “I hope that happens to me too.” The woman then stood up and said, “I’m sure it will. But for now you should go to bed, it’s getting late!” The little girl giggled and went to her bed and fell asleep.

Of course like everyone, everything has a dark side. The other side of the soulmate’s world is that you must fall in love with the person that is chosen. If you fail to succeed, both people will die a terrible fate. or you can choose to sacrifice the person and be immortal forever. Not everything is what it seems.

Olivia wasn’t a young girl anymore, she was now practically an adult or so she thinks. She was your 19 year old New Yorker although living in a different town. Olivia’s in college and has two amazing friends (Veronica and Heather) that are like family. The young woman still needed money to take care of herself since she was now living alone but with her two friends. So she decided to take a walk and see if anyone is looking forward to hiring someone.

The cool and snowy breeze passed by. It was the month of December, and man was it chilly and literally freezing! Olivia went by from store to store and still nothing. It seemed hopeless, by now, she had spent at least 3 hours searching! As she was about to give up, she came across a small building and by the look of it, it seemed like a bookstore. The girl thought that there would be no one willing to hire but she wouldn’t give up without giving it a chance. “Might as well give it a shot.” sighed the girl.

Inside the walls of the bookstore, it seemed quite lovely actually. The warm cozy feeling she felt as she walked across the red bronze carpet. The girl was delighted with the sight of seeing the Christmas decorations and it felt really jolly. She headed through the halls of the library when she came across a tall boy with perfectly blonde hair and a pleasant smile.

At the same time she felt something quite strange and before she knew it, strong gusts of wind came in. At the moment she knew what she was expecting. God, how she wished she didn’t.
