A Dangerous Bond

Ava's heart was restless, her once cheerful home was filled with anxious and fear filled expressions. As if they could read her mind her parents ( mark and Angela) slowly walked towards her who was currently sitting on the couch.

"Ava dear" her mother cooed sweetly as if she was a child. "We have something to tell you" she spoke reluctantly, Ava nod as she prepared herself for what was going to be said. "Ava you know that we were once scientists, but we never told you the reason why we ran away" she explained in a serious tone.

"We previously worked for the US government, and were once assigned to the same group however we were ordered to create something disastrous. We feared that our creation could destroy the world but due to our curiosity we continued to research and develop it. After a long period the corona virus was invented ,it was then we realized the situation we were in why? one by one our fellow scientists died mysteriously" her mother stated slowly.

They looked at her reaction before they continued, "in order to escape death we ran away with the virus , we found a secluded country and decided to live there; we got married, changed our identities and now we have you our beautiful daughter Ava" she spoke softly as she waited for my response to the sudden revelation.

"Why did you suddenly choose to tell me about your past it was 19 years ago lets just focus on our present" Eva spoke calmly as she fixed her shocked expression. Her parents turned to one another as they exhaled" did they think that i would get angry" ava thought to herself.

The relief her parents felt disappeared as they heard the sound of vehicles approaching the house. They quickly grabbed Ava frightening her with their sudden movements. "Ava listen to us we need you to hide,do not come out not untill we tell you to do so" they spoke fearfully.

" But what about you, why should i hide it didn't make any sense" Ava rambled on while her parents quickly turned the hands on the clock that was on the living room wall. Wuuuu the sound of the wall opening could be heard it revealed a tunnel and it made ava eyes widen.

She was shoved in by her parents "ava after you hear the signal run and never look back even if we are in danger you must run" her father spoke sternly. "But" she spoke hesitantly, she was interrupted by her mother "listen to us ava just go" her mother kissed her on the cheek as her father gave her a book
With no title which puzzled her." Do not give this book to anybody especially the police" they warned her repetitively.

"I don't want to leave you guys" she pleaded as the door started to close, her parents shook their heads as the door closed with a pang !. Ava was confused as to why her parents decided to hide her but that all disappeared when a loud bang was heard.

(Ava realized that a small opening was present in the hidden tunnel as she moved to peek through it) ,

Bang! About 20 men dressed in black with CIA written on their vest strolled into the house leisurely with guns pointed at her parents.

"Move and you die" the leader spoke threateningly. Her parents stood still as they asked "how may i help you sirs". "Ha ha haaaa" the leader threw the most hideous laugh ever known to man towards my parents response, causing goosebumps to appear suddenly all over ava's body. Ava tried to swallow but her throat became as dry as a desert.

In a instant he stopped laughing "Search the house now" the leader yelled loudly as the men started searching the rooms one by one.

Her parents tried to stop them but was struck in the back of their heads with a gun by the leader. Thud! their bodies fell to the ground loudly causing Ava to flinch at the scene. Her breathing quickens as she started to panic.

She watched as the man tied her parents up and he began slapping her father with the gun " you bitch pow die pow fucking pussy pow" his actions continued until one of the men spoke "the research on the virus is no where to be found sir".

"Huh hey wake them up" a man quickly went into the fridge at his command and he came out with a large bottle of water, splash! splash! cough! cough! her parents gasps for breath could be heard. Eva watched terrifyingly at the situation taking place. Where is the virus? He asked roughly.

What virus? Angela decided to play the fool but it didn't work. Pow! a earsplitting gun shot was heard , ava accidentally let a scream out but luckily her mother's frightening scream was louder than hers.

Ava recovered from the gun shot only when she saw the continuous dripping of liquid she looked at her father whose leg was bleeding profusely.

"Father" she croaked out in tears but to her shock the leader spoke again" if you don't want to die tell me where the virus is now". Her father seemed to be in shock because he was unresponsive, his eyes widen , his lips parted but no sound was heard.

"Please i will tell you where the virus is just promise to not kill us "her mother pleaded loudly causing tears to flow down ava's face repeatedly.

"Just hurry up bitch" the leader spoke distastefully and her mothers pleading stopped as she directed them to a secret safe that was unknown to ava.

A code was given and the safe was opened successfully, the virus along with the research documents were retrieved. "Okay now let us go to a hospital he lost a lot of blood" Angela spoke in a urging tone.

"Hospital" the leader scoffed "this whole operation should have no witness you know what that means right ?" "Impossible i thought we made a deal how coul" a gun was suddenly placed in Angela's mouth "mmmm mmmm " she tried to speak but it was muffled with tears.

The leader pulled down the safety as he slowly pulled the trigger bang! . Angela's limp body fell back into the chair as she breathed her last breath.

MOM! Auuhhhh! Ava screamed but no sound came through her mouth. she stood frozen with shock as she watched her mother's last breath. Her father's laugh was the only thing she registered it sounded so unpleasant it sounded as if he had became mental due to blood lost.

"And you are next" the leader spoke proudly as he held the gun at mark's head. Eva body moved on its own she ran as she searched for a lock or button that could open the door however it was too late Bang! Bang!.

Ava stumbled as she went back to the opening both her parents were killed but she hid like a coward that was only thing that ran through her mind.

(Ava took half of an hour to accept their deaths as she steeled her resolve if she wanted to escape she would have to mourn afterwards.)

Her fists took form as she studied the faces of all the men present and she made a life long promise " if i make it alive i will kill all the men and their families even if i die trying.

During that time the house was cleaned to the point that people would think that no one lived here. "Sir a picture was found with a young girl" a man spoke quickly . "Find her and kill her if word spreads out we are dead got it" the leader yelled impatiently.

He didn't have to speak twice because as he gave his command men started searching, while Ava quickly sprinted through the unknown tunnel.
