ONE

It’s the beginning of summer and I’ve already been greeted by work.

“Missing couples case?” I asked Ben.

Ben is a tall brunette man with light brown eyes and natural tanned skin, he was every girls dream guy, thats if you dont count character. He was a police officer who joined the force years ago. Now he has been promoted to a department that helps detectives solve cases. He helps me with cases when needed.

“Seem like it, a bit clichè if you ask me. Missing couple, come on we’ve all seen that one” Ben said with dissapointment in his tone. His character pisses me off but what can I do. It’s by the grace of God I’m working as a detective, I mean womena working with the police, almost impossible.

“Ben now is not the time to be cracking such jokes. A couple is missing and we dont even know if they are alive or not. Think about their families and friends come on Ben you are better than this” I scolded Ben. He scofs and looks back at the files in his hand

“Oh...” Ben exclaims

“You’re gonna love this” He says with a chuckle

“What is it?” I asked as I see excitment running through his face. He looks up at me

“Ok ok, let me give you all the details” He says sitting up

“The missing couples names are Elizabeth and George, Elizabeth or ‘Eli’ as her friends called her, is a twenty-three year old bartender while George is a twenty-six year old mechanic.” Ben says looking and me and licking his lips as he reads the secong part

“They both lived in Westwood street” He says, leaving me in utter disbelief

“Westwood?, like THE Westwood” I say still in shock. Ben nods and smiles.

“But thats impossible Ben was a mechanic and Eli a bartender. They could never afford such a place with those jobs” I said stating the obvious

“Seems like our case just got interesting” Ben said with a satisfied smirk

Westwood street is an enclosed neighboorhood where you’ll need a net worth of a over million dollars to live. Rumors has it that lots of scandles worth a life time in prison are being hidden behind does gates, but no one has ever had enough proof to exposed them.

“Do you know the name of the place Eli worked?” I asked Ben hoping for a lead so we will know where to start from because we cant just barge inWestwood like that

“Matter of fact I do know where she worked. Some place called Joyfull place in downtown burberry street” Ben said reading somthing written on a paper. I stand up with a broad smile on my face

“Ben get our things ready we are going for a little road trip”

Kimberly: It's nice to have a great book that you can simply melt into. There's a touch of drama but not so much that it's jarring.
