Chapter 1
Chapter 1
The Beginning
I Spent the afternoon making the empire state building out of boxes from adult diapers. It was a beautiful creation. Stood about 5 feet at its base and just higher than isle 4-5. It was the only way I could entertain myself at this stupid place.
I still can’t believe I’m working here. It’s only been 3 months and I already want to quit. Though My dad won’t let me. It’s only because my dad’s dad owned the place. Though that doesn’t give me special treatment which sucks.
“What in the world are you doing Sam?” Lilly asked me. Lilly was the assistant manager of the store.
“What does it look like!” I thought. Well you ask a stupid question you get a stupid answer.
“Making the Empire state building out of adult diaper boxes!” I replied.
“Look Sam. Just because your grandpa owns the whole store doesn’t give you permission not to work properly,” Lilly explained. Sometimes Lilly could be such a brown nose. I was told this too many times because I get bored really easily. Especially if you are working at a supermarket stocking shelves.
Lilly left to go help a complaining customer. I continued building my Empire states building. I didn’t care what Lilly said. I knew I couldn’t get fired. Well unless I did something really bad.
It took me about 3 hours to complete my Empire state building. When I was finished I grabbed my phone from my pocket and took a photo. I was very pleased with myself. Until some stupid little kid knocked it over. I yelled at the kid. Lilly instantly came over and asked what happened.
“This little kid knocked my Empire state building down so I yelled at him,” I explained, secretly wanting to get the rest of the day off. Though that rarely happens.
Lilly pulled me into the break room and went on and on about the rules and policies of the store. I really did not want to hear this again.
“You know that you’re not allowed to yell at the customers. It leaves bad ratings,” She said. I wasn’t really listening until she said something about money.
“If you yell at customers. Which you just did, your pay will slowly decrease,” She said.
“What. You can’t do that,” I yelled.
“Actually I can,” Lilly said, smirking. She knew I needed the money to pay off the rent.
“No please. I won’t do it again. I promise,” I pleaded. If I lost this job I would lose everything.
“Alright. But this is your last chance,” She warned me. I knew I had to be careful of what I did.
“Now go back to work and restock the shelves. Properly,” She yelled a bit when she said that last word.
“Ok” I replied, sighing.
