HOPE?
The doctor looked pale and almost inhuman when he stepped out the door from her patient's room. On the other side of the door laid an even paler girl whose auburn hair had lost its shine and lips so blue it almost looked purple. Her veins had popped all around her head with a blueish tinge. Her skin, cold.
One look at the doctor told the waiting party what they somehow knew would be inevitable. A sad tear escaped the middle aged man's eyes and a sigh from the doctor's lips.
She had experience with these sort of things and yet nothing that had happened in the past eight years of her career could compare or even could have prepared her for such a devastating loss.
"I'm sorry Mr. King. She didn't make it." The words escaped doctor Kim's mouth with great solemn and grief. The older man's blood soaked clothes now seemed to be the only reminder of the weight that was once in his arms. She may not have had the same blood running in his veins but he felt a loss that was just unfathomable.
Then suddenly the was a high pitched scream emanating from the room the nurse had just abandoned. She was in shock just as the rest of the people there. She rushed into the hospital room followed by the startled doctor Kim and a hopeful Mr. King.
What was seen in that room that day would forever be imprinted into the minds of all present that day.
In all their years of watching horror movies nothing could have better prepared them for the terror within those white walls which stunk with disinfectant and floor cleaners,only perhaps hope, hope for life to be returned to the angel whose life was lost that day.
