I have to finish curling my long dark locks and throw on my sweater. My name... Amelia Elizabeth Serrano. The only daughter and youngest child of Marco and Francesca Serrano. The lead Godfather of the Serrano family. My uncles have all been killed off and all thats left is my aunts on my fathers side. My brothers Luca, Ben, and Timmy are pretty much all we have left after years of being at war with the DeLuca family. I am Emma a 23 year old college student going for my nursing degree. My mother Fran HATES that I don't want to help with the family business and settle down. I am in my third year of nursing school and I convinced my parents and brothers that becoming a nurse could help the family. My father finally agreed when I was applying to nursing schools. He made me stay local and still live in our home. Home... thats funny we live in anything but, a home. We live in a fortress of a mansion in Long Island, New York. I have body guards, maids, cooks, and we have a whole staff to maintain the home. I am more of a simple girl. I maybe a mafia princess as they say but, I would rather wear sweats and Netflix than go to some fancy dinner.

I have almost black hair half way down my back, I have piercing green eyes and yet I didn't inherit the olive skin my mother has no... I am pale white. I slid on my nursing scrubs and put on my Apple Watch. I was working on the cancer floor at the hospital today. I don't have many friends or what friends I did have growing up have all been married off. My best friend is Katie she is in my class and every know and then we get to let loose but, its like a battle with my papa.

"One more year Emma and I will be free!" I told myself giving me a look over before heading down for breakfast so my momma doesn't scream at me anymore. I grabbed my bag and phone and headed out through the massive hallway down the stairs to the other side of the mansion to join my family in our morning meal.

"Finally! Emma you know when momma calls you need to move it!" My brother Timmy perked up.

All my brothers are older than me Timmy is the only one left that lives with us. My other brothers Luca and Ben are married and have their own children and families now. However they are not to far away. My momma wanted all of us to live under one roof but, my sister in laws refused. I could see why. I would want my privacy as well. My brother Timmy is 25 and he is more into multiple girls not so much into one forever kinda guy as of yet.

"Timmy it's ok, were all here now." My momma spoke.

My papa was reading the newspaper and I knew he was smirking at my mothers words.

"Emma, why do you insist on leaving everyday to do this school stuff? You should be learning the family business?"

"Momma we have been over this for 3 years now. I can be a part of the family business with a nursing degree."

My papa lowered his newspaper.

"Fran leave her alone, she will be a massive asset to us one day." My papa winked at me and Timmy scoffed.

To say I was a Mafia princess was just that. I was a daddy's girl through and through. I got green eyes and pale skin. I looked more like my father in many ways than my mother although he has dark eyes as well. My momma? She was from the mother land of Italy. Her father was the ultimate ruler and my father in his younger years paired with my grandfather for business and power when he went across the pond he met my mother Francesca and he left with her in tow. She has the Italian features of olive skin, Chocolate eyes, and thick corse black hair. My brothers all carried my mothers looks except me. She took to the family business because thats what she was trained to do. Don't get me wrong, my mother is a beast. She can take any man with a blade or gun. She raised me to be the same. I know how to defend myself, shoot, stab, and kill if need be but, never had to use such force other than when I am training. Now and days Timmy and I train two days a week to keep myself in shape. My papa always taught me to be strong willed and a vengance if I ever needed to be.

"Emma my princess you will be home at 5:00 pm today correct?"

"Yes Papa I will, do you need something?"

"Yes my sweet girl we have a very important dinner this evening and a meeting afterwards I will need you to be there."

I just nodded knowing that whenever my papa was doing business (depending on the business) he liked show off his family. It was kind of a way for him to showcase what and who we are. I mean sure papa was a Mafia king he dealt drugs, weapons, he ran underground rings and clubs. He had his dry cleaners, and small businesses all over the city to wash cash and do deals. Papa didn't do child and women trafficking, he didnt make money off of the innocent. He was more of the one that helped the innocent. Most of his employees that run his empire are just that the innocent ones that he saved through the years and gave them jobs and a future.

Coming out of my thoughts of why we are having the very special dinner and meeting my mama chirped in.

"Emma I will have Molly pick up a dress I will order for you."

I looked up "Oh Mama I am sure I have something I can wear Molly doesn't need to do that."

Molly was my Nanny when I was a child and now she is the top maid and helps my mother like her second hand in charge when it came to running the home.

"No, you will need to look the part and be a lady Emma. Get your head out of the clouds. Its hard enough for me to see you in those outfits going to nursing school let alone wearing something someone could have seen you in before."

I dared to roll my eyes but knew to keep my mouth shut and not make a fuss.

"Ok well im off I will be home later!"

I said as I stood up and headed out the door. I hopped in my all black out bullet proofed Marcades that Papa got me for my birthday last year. At least he lets me drive myself not bringing all the attention to a driver. My childhood of a driver to my school wasn't to to bad. I mean I went to a all private girls Catholic school where many of the girls were in the same boat as me. Some were my cousins, some were Papas men. Now that im in the real world Papa makes sure I amalways being followed with his men and eyes are on me at all times. I pulled into the hospital parking lot and made my way into the nurses station to start my rotation. I am still pondering why Papa and Mama were so firm about this dinner tonight?
