"I haven't finished all the chapters but don't worry I will as you can see from the comments I added. I don't have real critics for the story because I'm already a fan so now I'm bias. I loved the strong dialogue between the characters and it wasn't overly detailed like most stories where I kind of lose track. The characters are flawless! chef kiss haha. I definitely spammed through the comments but I adore Alec and he is staying in my pocket for favorite characters. Your MC is written well and she's not a push over like most female characters where they are often portrayed. Anyways I can go on so overall great job and I can't wait to read book 2!"

Great story
"I’ve had to force myself to stop reading to take breaks for food but I’m very much enjoying the story. Great characters, good writing, and an interesting plot. I’m worried about how it will end as it currently feels impossible for the couple to make it out with their ideal ending and I know they are ignoring too much of what the other prince is doing to gain power. I do wish the crown prince was a little more politically savvy and had more success and allies to feel like he’s better equipped to take on the kingdom and fight the proclaimed bad guy in the story. The writing style has been very good. I haven’t had any serious complaints about how the story progresses, dialog or punctuation. "
Started off strong then tapered
"I think this is one of the better books on Inkitt writing and concept wise - however it did taper after that strong start. I think I expected more exploration of the fantastical side and unraveling of the mysteries but the plot came to a stand still. It just seemed like Donovan wasn’t interested in improving the situation but more defusing. There was a lot of sitting around at tea parties and balls, and not so much counter espionage. Some of the characterisation could be checked - Donovan is constantly described as popular yet we only see his one friend Alec. K is supposed to be this anti-social person but has all these guards doing his biding (The question I had was: why? He doesn’t hide the abusiveness. So what’s the compelling reason for their loyalty? I wasn’t quite convinced here). Nonetheless, nitpicking aside. This series has great potential. I would like to see more worldbuilding as this is a unique concept is worth building on. 😊"
