Chapter 1

Linda could still taste the sizzles of champaign she had taken it wasn't something new , the house was well furnished , the chandelier her husband had picked sparkled illuminating the polished floors as she sat in her prada heels . He'd picked it so his beautiful wife could shine like the true star she was , that was three years before the incident , that was before the tragedy that had made her marriage a crumpling failure and was standing on a thin strand of thrright now .

But it wasn't enough , he didn't care if she looked prim and perfect neither did he care if she kept the house this clean , he was gone .

Once again left her to the cold bed where she would cry miserable tears while he slept with his lover , he never told her this but she knew . The clear feminine perfume on his clothes , the unusual timed calls he'd say were from office at hours even she knew were a lie and the constant need to always pick a fight whenever she would want to discuss the elephant in the room .

He'd say " get over it don't blame me for your misery it was your choice and you never discussed it before so live with it ".

And she would flinch and not talk anymore even though she wanted to scream at him , that his word hurt and she was already bleeding from the past trauma .

The simple thought made her sigh , it couldn't be fixed what had happened could never be fixed yet he would blame her as if it were her fault.

Sometimes it's the only way but he could never understand.

ktkirata: The story is really interesting. How the character described in the story is like you can see them and picture how they move, talk and feel in the every plots. Well done writer and keep it up.

AS: The writing here is clean, polished, and flows so naturally that it was a real pleasure to read.Isla is a great protagonist. Her self-deprecating humor made her feel real (the squirrel's tail and the upside-down trees in the epilogue had me laughing), and her skills as a healer and her growth into h...
