Chapter 2: The Escape Plan

Lucian sits pondering by Sylvie's desk before turning to her as he speaks, "Sylvie, I have asked much of you during your service to me, but I must ask one more of you." Lucian looks over at his children and he struggles to hold back his emotions as he looks back to his loyal subject and friend.

"Take them, hide them and care for them as if they were your own pups. If I survive this, I will find you."

Sylvie begins to tear up as she nods to her king. "Yes my lord, as you wish."

Just as the two were about to wake the twins and prepare for the task ahead, Sylvie's eyes glaze over as her mate mind links her and alerts her of trouble in the near distance. Sylvie rushes to wake the children as she informs Lucian. Immediately, the king jumps into action and opens the door to distract the incoming rebels.

The children's caretaker wakes the slumbering twins and exits out the back of her cabin. Holding their hands she speaks, "We have to go now," she whispered urgently, and the twins nodded scared but obedient.

The sky was dark, ominous clouds threatening a storm, Lucian knew that they had to move quickly. They made their way through the forest, taking care to avoid the guards that had been posted to watch for them. The rain started to fall in heavy droplets, soaking them to the bone, but they pressed on.

As they approached the border of The Luna Lands to board a ship, they heard the sounds of battle. Lucian could see the rebels approaching, their weapons drawn, ready to fight. He urged Sylvie and the children to keep moving, but as they reached the border, Lucian was tackled from behind, and he felt a sharp pain in his leg. He turned to see one of the rebels holding a knife, and he knew that he had to fight for his family's safety.

Lucian fought with all his might, but the rebels were too many. He was overpowered, his arms and legs pinned down, and he saw Sylvie and the children being taken away, their screams echoing in his ears. The last thing he saw before he lost consciousness was the rebels dragging his family away, leaving him alone and wounded.

When he woke up, Lucian was chained to a wall in a cold, dark cell. His leg was badly injured, and he could barely move. He tried to call out for Sylvie and the children, but his voice was hoarse and weak. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, and Lucian lost all track of time. He was kept in isolation, with no one to talk to and no idea of what was happening outside of his cell.

But despite the darkness and the despair, Lucian never lost hope. He knew that he had to escape and find his family, to take them to safety and to a new home. And so he waited, biding his time, planning his escape, and dreaming of the day when he would be reunited with his beloved family.

Sylvies's POV

The night was dark and dreary, and I could feel the weight of responsibility on my shoulders. As the handmaiden to the late Queen Şïłï, it was my duty to protect her children, Jess and Raytheon, from the rebels who sought to wipe out their family line. And now, with Lucian captured and their home planet of Ëłphämæ in chaos, it was up to me to get them to safety.

I found Jess and Raytheon huddled together in a corner of the castle's throne room, where the rebels had temporarily placed us, their young faces etched with fear and uncertainty. I knelt down to their level, my heart breaking for the loss they had already endured.

"Come with me," I whispered, taking their small hands in mine. "I have a plan to get us out of here and to safety."

As we made our way through the winding corridors of the castle, I could feel the weight of the rebels' eyes upon us. But we were not alone. Jess and Raytheon's powers as Lunar Mystics allowed us to sense danger before it was upon us, giving us the advantage we needed to stay ahead of our pursuers.

We finally made it to the designated meeting spot, where our Awarg friend, Kal, was waiting for us. He had a ship prepared and ready to take us away from the cosmic realm of Akasha, where our home planet resided, and into an entirely different galaxy.

But before we could leave, we needed to make a stop. I knew of a trusted pack member who lived on a planet near our destination. He had agreed to keep Raytheon hidden and safe until we could find a way to reunite the siblings.

As we flew through the galaxy, Jess and I held hands together, looking at the stars passing us by as we entered the portal with Kal. I could feel the determination radiating from the young princess, the same determination that her mother possessed.

We finally arrived at our destination, the planet of Atabey (Earth), within the Milky Way Galaxy. This was to be our new home, a place where we could start anew and rebuild what we had lost.

But first, we needed to find a way to survive on this new world, with its own set of dangers and challenges. Jess and I were in this together, and I vowed to protect her with my life.
