Preface

Siivet, was a planet with beautiful bright colours, the land was emerald green and the oceans were sapphire blue. Siivet was a planet in the Suunta galaxy, a galaxy far from our own. It was one of the most beautiful planets in this galaxy, because yes, in Suunta there are planet rankings. On Siivet, there are five seasons, the first one is Tumma, which was divided into two parts, Yö- where for a month and a half it was dark and Sade, where for a month and a half it was constantly raining and snowing. During Tumma, the temperature could rise to 5°C and fall to -25°C. The second season was Kiva sää, during one and a half months the maximum temperature was 45°C and the minimum 35°C. The third season was Luontoäiti, for two and a half months the volcanoes were erupting, the swirling areas were filled with it, the flooded areas were flooded, sometimes earthquakes and fortunately very few tsunamis. It was often the same places that were affected, there was the whole north of Kukka, Tähti and Vene and the whole country of Taivas and Helmi. The fourth season was Syksy, it was the equivalent of autumn on Earth, it lasted three months. And the fifth season was Vüleä Kausi, the calmest season on Siivet, with a minimum temperature of 15°C and a maximum temperature of 25°C, lasting two months in all. There were sixteen countries on Siivet, all the inhabitants spoke either French or Finnish, but the names of the countries were always in Finnish. Each country had its own culture, but they shared the same legends/myths. The Kahdeksan salaperäistä jumalaa, which translates as “the eight mysterious gods”, were gods worshipped in every country except Kuu. The people who prayed to them only knew of these eight gods, but in reality there was a ninth, or rather the first goddess. There was a myth that when the seven Mysterious Gods were reunited, they put an end to all the wars that could exist on this planet. But this was only a myth. On Siivet there were twelve countries, including Upea Pohjoinen, which was a country in the north-east. It contained seven regions and thirty-two counties, its capital was Lumi. Upea Pohjoinen had a president as a government, but due to the war, the Pohjoinenese never had a government again. Their flag was horizontal, light blue for calm, black for elegance, green for hope and a white star, in the centre of the flag, for equality and as a symbol. One of the laws of Upea Pohjoinen was that the inhabitants were free. The Pohjoinenese had a tradition that every first weekend of the month they put red flowers in front of their houses to remember their dead. On Siivet, there was also Ihana, a country in the west. It contained eight regions and forty departments, its capital was Mylodane. Ihana had a president as a government, the succession of the president was done by family and it was only women who had to govern. Their flag was vertical, light green for hope, a white stripe for equality, orange for security, another white stripe and red for strength. One of the laws of Ihana was that the carrying of weapons was forbidden. The Ihanese had a tradition that every first Monday of the month they had to go to the President’s ceremony.

From the outside, this planet looked beautiful and calm, where all the inhabitants were happy. But on the surface, it was the opposite. In 2323, a war broke out, destroying the bond between the inhabitants of this planet for twenty years now. The war was sparked by the assassination of the Kukkais king, which angered the people of Kukka. It was a series of murders, betrayals, alliances with the enemy, infiltration and so on. Some said that it was the fault of a man living in Pilvi because following an imprisonment in Kukka, he had decided to escape to assassinate the king. Others, more delirious, said that it was the fault of a Mestaruus, but very few people believed in this. But still, you have to believe in the impossible to know the truth.
