Adrien Warmlight trabaja como cajero en la panadería del padre de su amigo británico-mexicano, Mateo. Tiene una familia sólida y no considera tener ausencia de nada en su existencia. Gracias a su trabajo, un día conoce a Isaac Feelstrong, quien entró en el establecimiento como un cliente más. Isaac acaba de volver de Pensilvania. Rentó un local a un intervalo de la panadería en la que labora Adrien. Vende pinturas en óleo fabricadas por él mismo, pues el arte es algo que le apasiona. Sin embargo, padece un trastorno depresivo, su entorno familiar es hostil, y la depresión lo aqueja desde su infancia. Sus líos personales detonan en él acciones autoflagelantes y autodestructivas. Adrien, la familia de él y personas allegadas pretenden ayudarlo. Pero Isaac termina tomando una decisión que significaría concluir lo suyo con Adrien... Y concluir su existencia entera.
