A Skillful Blend of Science, Culture, Myth and Faith
"Who could be prepared for a match between a fantasy bout three dragons in modern times with the human belief in God? For that is what author Sharon Hughes has created - a blend of heritage and culture, magic and myth, science and data. In Tibet Zi Yan Oohara is studying business, to meet her father’s plan for her, while she resnts his seeming detachment from mourning his wife, her mother In Hawai'i young surfer Okolo has been watching his father (Dr. Madix Duboff)'s decline into alcoholism and guilt while each mourns for the loss of Okolo's mother, Madix's wife. Zi’s gift is that of predictory visions which do come to pass. Okolo’s gift is the ability to get into the mind of animals. There comes an enormous horse to Tibet, and an unusual volcanic eruption in Hawai’I, and their world changes. How each causative event brings Zi and Okolo together, and to the world of dragons, has been skilfully handled by the author, who concludes the near disastrous story by bringing into the tale, if only briefly, He who is the centre of faith, and changing the lives of ZI and Okolo forever."
Better than Verahe, suitable for a wide age range
"The writter developed strong characters, wove a plot that keeps the readers interested. The girls father was the only character that could have been developed further to round out the story. The story ending felt like the writter tied up the boys character but ran short on time completing the girls story. Overall an easy enjoyable read. "
Interesting
"This is an interesting way to explain how and why volcanoes erupt. I enjoy reading about this writer's idea about the 2 kids and dragons working together."
