Chapter One-”Best Friends”

It was October 17th, 2013, and April and Ramona were back together again and headed to the Devil’s house.

“I thought you would have figured that out by now,” April said with a smile.

“Well I don’t, so could you just tell me?” Ramona asked, rolling her eyes.

“I get it, I get it, you hate me,” April replied, “Anyway, we’re headed over to Angelica’s house”.

“I thought you had a new plan redhead,” Ramona said, already over April’s presence.

“I do,” April assured Ramona, “Kinda”.

“Kinda?” Ramona asked.

“I have a plan, it just needs your input,” April said. “And we’re not going to Hamilton don’t worry”.

“So where are we going?” Ramona asked.

“To her house up the street,” April replied.

“Isn’t it abandoned?” Ramona asked.

“Actually it’s very well kept,” April said with a smile.

“By who?” Ramona asked, “Isn’t Angelica too busy planning on how to end the world of magic?”.

“She has me do it,” April said, “Or rather, had me do it”.

“How did that go over by the way?” Ramona asked, “Oh wait I forgot, she wants to kill you”.

“Yeah, probably,” April said.

The rest of the way there was quiet and awkward. April and Ramona got to the house and had to find a way in.

“So how are we getting in Redhead?” Ramona asked.

“Stop calling me that,” April told Ramona.

“I don’t like saying your name,” Ramona said, “Now how are we going to get in?”.

“I still have a key don’t worry,” April replied. April feels around for the key and notices it’s not there.

“You don’t have the key, do you?” Ramona asked.

“No I do not,” April replied, looking at Ramona.

“Of course,” Ramona said as they started pacing in frustration.

“What is that supposed to mean?” April asked.

“I was always the one to make the plans. And you can’t even hold on to a key,” Ramona explained.

“I don’t need this from you right now,” April said, “We’ll get in”.

“I’m waiting,” Ramona said, pestering April on purpose.

“How about you help me instead of heckling me?”

“Alright fine,” Ramona told her, “What do you want me to do?”

“Try the back,” April suggested.

“Why don’t you use magic?” Ramona asked. “You would think you’d know how to get into something you visit all the time”.

“It’s covered in blood magic idiot,” April told Ramona, “She must’ve changed it after I left”.

“Yeah, no shit,” Ramona said.

“You say that but you couldn’t even tell she used blood magic,” April replied, “Now can you please do a simple task”.

Ramona rolled their eyes before heading to the back of the house. After five minutes, April led to the back to see what was taking Ramona so long.

“What’s up?” April asked.

“I can’t get them open,” Ramona told April.

“Did you even try?” April asked.

“Yes,” Ramona replied

“Knowing you I bet you gave up on the first try,” April said before attempting to open the window. Ramona smiles as April starts to struggle.

“See,” Ramona said, “Did you get the front open?”.

“No,” April told Ramona, “What do we do?”.

“Stand back,” Ramona told April.

April did what she was told and Ramona kicked through the window and glass shattered everywhere. April watched in awe as Ramona stepped through the shattered window.

“Hot,” April said before doing the same.
