Chapter 1
Nora and Derek have been living together for 1 year and 5 months. Yes they know each other quite well..at least they think they do. Derek has been keeping one thing from Nora....Nora quickly came down the steps from her bedroom to the kitchen when Derek yelled her name. "Yes?" "I have something that I feel you should read." "And?" "Here." He gave her a newspaper. She looked at him after glancing at it. "Just read the thing." She read it then looked at him again. "That is my point exactly. So many storms and everything come here and now all of a sudden the siren is out. How are we supposed to know to evacuate if a tornado or a flood comes? It's not like they can just knock on every door in this city- Calm down Derek. We hardly even get storms- If you add them up from 20 years ago to this one it's a lot." "100 from 20 years ago to now isn't that many. And when did you take the time to even count all of that?" "When you left me here all alone." "Oh. You cook anything?" "Yes I did. A new meal that I want to become a tradition with my future kids." "Does your soldiers march?" "Does your kitty purr?" Nora rolled her eyes. He grabbed a soup spoon and blowed then held it out to her. "I don't want your spit." "Whatever just try it." She held her hand out to grab the spoon but he swatted her hand away. "Stop being difficult." She sighs and sips it. Then licks her lips and looks at him. "Wow that's actually good." "You saying it like I can't cook." "Can I get your keys to your car?" "And what's wrong with yours?" "I need to take it to the repair shop." "Sure." He grabbed his keys from a hook and handed it to her. "Thank you." "Of course. Where you going?" "Um I am going to go to my friend's house." "Right." "Later." "Don't take forever. I get bored." "Mhm." She walked out of the house and got in his car going to her friend's house. She got out and knocked on the door. Lucia opened it and smiled. "Hey bestie!" "Hey." She walked in. "Girl how is that fine man doing?" "Fine. I need some food I'm hungry." "He can't cook?" "He can. But you make pies and stuff." "So that's what you want?" "Yes." She went in the fridge. "I have a Carmel turtle pie. I haven't made any recently." "I will take it." "All yours." She grabbed a knife and cut 2 slices. "My mouth is watering from the look of it." "I'm sure. You going to go visit your grandparents and your parents?" "Most definitely." "Ok." "Well I'm out." "So you used me for pie?" "You can say that." They both laugh then Nora goes to her parents house. A knock came from the door. Derek rushed to get it. "Hey babe." "Hey. I made some soup." "Oh that's nice." Misty walked through the door. He made her a bowl. She kissed him then grabbed the bowl. "Babe. I miss you from work. I hate modeling when you aren't there." He looked at her. "I don't want you distracted." "You can distract me all night." "Well maybe another time- This is perfect. Its a little spicy." "Oh is it?" "Yeah." She said with a smile on her face. "Do you ever get bored living alone? Maybe I could come move in with you. At least you wouldn't be bored." "I'm fine with living alone." "Mh. You look nice." He was only wearing a black dress shirt and some navy pants. "Thank you." He looked at the time. "You must be on break?" "Yes. I should be getting back huh?" He nods. "Ok well thanks for the soup." "Sure. Anytime." She walked towards him and kissed him. "You taste good." "Do I?" "Yeah. I can taste the soup." He smiles. "I'm sure you can." She walked out of the house. Sometime later Nora came back. "I'm back. With some pie." "Really?" "Yeah." "You hungry?" She shakes her head. "Keys?" She handed him the keys. "I got a dress for you." "And why is that?" "I was just going shopping and I saw a dress- You went shopping?" "Yeah." "By yourself?" "Yeah." "How did you see a girl's dress on a man aisle?" He sighs. "I was walking around the store. I was walking towards the men's aisle and I saw the dress and thought that maybe you would like it." "Mh. Well thank you." "Your welcome." "I probably won't have any special occasions." "Yes you will. Your parents called and said that they are having a family reunion. I told them I was coming." "Your not family." "Ouch. Not through blood but through the heart." "I guess. Where is the dress?" "On your bed. With shoes and matching jewelry." "Ok." She left and went upstairs. So did he. He needed to get dressed himself. He looked at his outfit in the mirror and decided to just get some shoes and he would be fine. He got some black oxford dress shoes. Then he searched for a long black jacket. It was the ones you see detectives wear. His personal style. Most people actually liked the look on him. He grabbed it and slipped it on. He walked in her room where she was clearly dressing. "Do you mind?" "It's not like I never seen a woman in a bikini." "So what!" "Don't yell. These walls are thin. Makes people think stuff. Like abuse." "What do you want?" She said putting on the dress. "Nothing. Just wanted to check and see if you were ready." Nora saw a glow in his eyes. A fire. But she looked away from him and grabbed the heels he had. "Well I'm obviously not." "I know." He said grabbing the necklace from hand. He held up her hair and attached one side to the other. "Your hair looks...like it needs something more." "I want a fishtail braid." "I can do it for you." "I'm good I can- Sit down." She sighs and sat down on the bench at the end of the bed. He sat down on the bed. She handed him the detangling brush. He grabbed it and set it down so he could take the plat down in her hair. Then he brushed it and started. "So when is the reunion?" "In a little while." "Oh." He ignored the part that told him how beautiful she looked. She looked like a rose. She had on a pretty red dress that tightened around her curves and her boobs. It was a dress below her knees. But nowhere near her ankle. He smiled. She looked perfect. It mainly brings out her honeycomb eyes. It was a light honey color. With her dark dark brown hair and the tone of her skin is magnificent. "Your done." "Thank you." "Sure." She stood up and looked at him. He looked at her. She had a glow of desire in her eyes. "You ready to go?" "Yeah." She said and the glow left in an instant. He didn't feel that way for her. She thought to herself.
