Ugh just another morning getting up and doing the same thing. I’m kind of glad I can just autopilot through my morning. Shower, get dressed, grab bag, go down stairs, leave the house and walk to school. Same thing day in day out 5 days a week, I even do study hall most Saturdays just so I don’t have to be at home. Home isn’t a bad place to be but since moving in with my dad I never quite felt like I belonged, my dads rarely home he’s a police officer so spends most of his time at the office leaving me alone a lot of the time. It’s not that I don’t like being alone I actually enjoy the solace but sometimes the silence gets too loud. The weather is terrible so I decide against walking today and use my dads car, he won’t mind. The drive to school is only 10 minutes depending on traffic but let’s be honest there’s never any traffic in this tiny town.

Pulling up to the school parking lot and everyone is lulling around waisting time before the bell. This school is dull, most of the people even duller accept for my friends who if I’m honest also have their moments of dullness, I love them don’t get me wrong it’s just nothing seems to excite me anymore. I put it down to teenage mood swings but truthfully? Maybe I’m just not happy of a person. Walking into class we all take our assigned pairs, although I sit alone. I’ve been alone all year my work is strong enough to not need a partner I’m a straight A student. Surprised? Believe me I know, the amount of times my teachers put me forward for tutoring I don’t know. It’s boring but it earns me extra cash I’ve almost saved enough to leave this town behind me, I want to move as far away as possible.

“Students can we listen up for a moment please, we have a new student joining us to finish off the school year, please can everyone be welcoming and helpful. Rose?” Oh god please not me… “ Alex will be your partner for the rest of the year, help him catch up on what he’s missed so far please.” I roll my eyes inwardly but then I see him. Oh wow… he’s gorgeous in an understated sort of way. Dark blonde floppy hair flicked back away from his face and the brightest blue eyes I’ve ever seen, he’s dressed in all black, black T-shirt and skinny fit jeans with matching black Timberland boots. He’s at least a head taller than me making him about 6ft 3inches.

“She’s just at the back there son, take a seat” he smirks at our teacher and heads towards me. Taking a deep breath I try a small smile, he seems perplexed but smiles slightly back taking a seat to my left. Studying him closer he has a straight shot of bone at his jaw that juts out slightly his face looks like it was carved by a sculptor with the curves and hollows of his cheeks. Up close he looks more muscular than I expected, just enough sleek smoothly toned muscles just enough to pull gently at his tshirt. He’s incredibly good looking but why do I care, I’m supposed to be helping him catch up that and I’m leaving next month.

“So what do you need to know…?” Wow what a conversation starter, god I’m useless. Turning to look at me his eyes pierce my very soul, my whole being.

“What do you want to teach me…” his voice is deep and sultry, it vibrates through me making me shiver slightly. A knowing smile plays on his lips as he notices.

“Uhm I have some notes you can look through, let me know where you might need help…” sliding my notes book over towards him his fingers brush mine as he picks it up. Sending a shiver up my arm at the contact. He doesn’t open the notes he just keeps his eyes locked onto mine staring deeply and I just can’t look away.

"Rose?" I physically jump at the sound of Mr. James's voice. Shit I didn't even hear what he said...

"Uhm sorry sir...I umm..."

"The word you're looking for is 'Ambivalence' Sir"

"Correct... Thank you Alex..."

"Thank you..." I turn to Alex shyly. He shrugs and smiles slightly.

"Not a problem." Before I know it the bell rings signaling the end of our class. Had it really been an hour already what the hell...? Alex leaves in the blink of an eye I don't even see him go he's just...gone... the rest of the day goes by in a blur and I don't see Alex again. I meet up with my girls Jess, Chloe and Leesha after last class and we head back to my house, thank god it's saturday tomorrow. Study hall can suck it this week. On the drive back Chloe gets a text and squels in the back seat making me swerv slightly.

"Jesus Chloe I could of killed us!"

"Sorry Rose but oh my god! Tom just invited us to the bar tonight!"

Jess and Leesha reply with squels.

"Seriously guys cut the screaming out!"

"Sorry Rosy posy." Jess knows I hate when she calls me that. We've been friends for years before I moved here and she used to call me Rosy Posy when we were six and I used to call her Jessy Wessy. I abandoned the nickname as I grew up it seems only one of us has. I roll my eyes inwardly.

"Girls please tell me you're coming with me! It's party time!" Ugh I groan.

"Oh come on Rose you need a life outside of studying! You never come out with us! Pleaseee he mentioned you by name to invite you too! You know I need my girls by me so I can make my move with Tom..."

"Pleaseeee" they plea together at the same time.

"Ugh fine, fine if it shuts you up"

They all start squeling again... oh great this all night
