Simply Complicated.

I was quite naive.

A naive girl with big dreams.

Perhaps that's why I was quite foolish. And didn't see what was coming next.

The thunderstorm often made me scared for a number of reasons but that day I was numb as a rock seeing two dead bodies infront of me.

" Mom? Dad?"

The cries of my two brothers kept piercing my ears. That was eight years ago.

" You're returning back to your country?" asked my friend Valerie.

" Hm? Yes. It's been a long time since I went back to Patherick."

My homeland. It's also the place I hated a lot. When I left that land I thought I had also left all the bad memories behind. But it seems those darn days still stuck to my mind.

" Call me once you reach there!" she said with a smile.

I gave her a polite expression and picked up my bag. Valerie is the Naver Company's CEO. It's the leading publishing company and I was one of her top writers. We met when we were in university. I was completing my master's degree in Business Management and Social Sciences that time. Valerie took care of me a lot and we both live together even after graduation.

" I will. See ya!"

Saying that I waved her goodbye and boarded the plane. I was seated near the window luckily.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We're about to take off and will shortly reach our destination so be ready and kindly follow all the safety requirements and guidelines. Thank you and have a good time.

My phone vibrated. I looked to see a messege on the lick screen.

" Arnie?"

Arnie: have you boarded?

I texted back.

Hailey: yes. I'm surprised you even remember me.

Arnie: what are you talking about?

Hailey: when was the last time you texted me?

Arnie: are you mad? I'm sorry. for not replying to your texts.

Hailey: yeah. You always leave me on seen.

Arnie: I do read them sis. Are you going to keep being angry?

Hailey: fine. I'll forgive you this time. But please do reply. I get worried.

Arnie: I've just always been busy. I'm an adult now so don't be worried.

Hailey: I can't do that.

Arnie: I know sis. Anyways, I have a surprise for you.

Hailey: surprise?

Arnie: it's at the airport. See you soon.

' What does he mean by that? Surprise? See you soon? Isn't he supposed to back at Chichester? I wonder what it is.'

I kept my cellphone down and closed my eyes preparing to take a nap. Days had turned to weeks, weeks to months and now those months passed away taking eight years from the world.

' I wonder how Ray is doing. My kind and stupid youngest brother has always been a bit weak. He's in the military now serving as a soldier. Atleast Arnie sees my text, so why is it that Ray can't even send me a letter?!'

I mean to say that I'm his only sister right? He never talked much after mom and dad passed away.

' Let's stop mulling in these thoughts and sleep.'

A sharp cry was heared out of nowhere accompanied by gunshots.

' What was that?'

Please leave me! I don't know anything!

' Mom?'

Blood came down my feet. What's this? How did it come to this?

Get lost! It's all because of you! If only you never came in my life! I wouldn't have lost them!

My eyes popped open. The pilot was announcing our landing.

' Another nightmare?'

I drank some water breathing deeply. Thank goodness the seat besides me was empty. Otherwise someone would have thought I were a lunatic.

The plane landed safely. I got down taking my trolley bag with me and checked out.

Miss Hailey Alaina Rayner, kindly wait at the end of lane 5.

The speaker announced. Lane five? I did as instructed and found someone completely unannounced showing up infront of me.

" Ray? Arnie?"

Arnold Witherspoon Raynard, eldest son of the Raynard family.

Raymond Witherspoon Raynard, youngest son of the Raynard family.

" Raymond! Arnold!"

Ray smiled at me gently. I ran to him and gave them both a big hug. It's been eight years since I last saw them.

" How are you sis?" (Arnold).

" Surprise!" (Raymond).

" What are you both doing over here?! When the hell did you both idiots plan this?!"

" For quite a while. We all came back after quite some time so I thought this is a good chance for us to meet." (Raymond).

I let go of them. Arnold held my bag and led us to a fancy looking car. Raymond was driving the car so I sat besides him.

" Where are we going?" (Arnold).

" Back to our old home." (Raymond).

Our old home? Is it really fine for us to go there? It seems as if you both are alright. If so so than we should go.

I glanced at Raymond again who looked head with an impassive expression.

" Hey Ray. How's your life? I heared you got promoted. It was all over the news."

" Yes yes. Your puny little brother got promoted to the Chief of Army's General Staff."

" Shouldn't we celebrate?" I asked.

" Let's do that." (Arnold).

" I have no problem. Let's just do it with the three of us." Raymond said putting on some relaxing music.

At last we arrived at our old house. It had been closed off for quite some time.
