Chapter 1
It wasn't a bad day. I had woken up with a little migraine. At least not as bad as the previous day. I laid there for at least thirty minutes contemplating whether I needed to go to the gym or not. I chose the former and in less than an hour I was out. The weather felt nice and warm, I could feel myself easing into it.
It was one hour after my intense session when I saw him, it wasn't his good looks or his height or his body or tattoos. His charisma exploded around him as he walked towards me. He sat beside me, grabbed my wrist. The hell?.
"Sorry I just wanted to see your tattoos", he blurted.
There was nothing special about the bouquet of roses tattoo. In fact it was a painful reminder I wasn't ready to admit.
I was taken aback but I didn't let it show
I kept staring at him, the guts. Who was he?
"Dakota, your next session is about to begin!", I turned swiftly towards Landon, my coach, he didn't have to be such a bummer.
The stranger still had my hands in his.
"I'm Liam", he was saying.
"Dakota", I could sense trouble brewing at the pit of my stomach.
"Do you mind? Can we talk later?"
Hell!, We could talk right now for as long as you want. I needed to do something about the tiny wild voice that kept invading.
"Ughh, yeah", with that I walked away briskly and tried to think nothing of it, I could feel his eyes on me, I could literally feel the heat from the imaginary flames that coursed my body. When did the weather get so hot?.
My next session wasn't as intense as the first, I played through it like it was nothing, my muscles kept screaming but I pretended to be deaf. Get a grip. My thoughts danced around the new products I intended getting for work, I needed to get some things in motion, working for someone wasn't the plan and-
"Hey, I'm about leaving-", he popped up out of nowhere! "- can I call you later?"
He was attractive, alright. I noticed the glint in his eyes when he spoke. There was no harm in one phone call. Was there?
"Sure"
I punched in my number, watched him walk away after he mouthed something like "goodbye" or was it " later". It wasn't until he left I got the answer.
The harm had been done.
