Chapter 1

"What made you think that I'll pay for the debt father took for your mother's surgery? I have a boyfriend and no way I'll marry that guy. It was your mother you going to pay for it doesn't matter if he knows you or not" Kate said and walked away with her boyfriend carrying her bags with her leaving Anna with her step mother.

Now she was standing in front of the doors wearing a wedding gown waiting for the announcement.

"The Bride Is Here," the announcement echoed, and Anna's heart sank. As the gates swung open, her mom nudged her from behind, urging her to begin her walk down the aisle. With each step, Anna felt an intense gaze upon her, like a weight pressing down on her shoulders. She sensed it might be him, the veil covering her face prevented him from seeing her clearly.

The delicate lace seemed to suffocate her, and she longed to rip it off, to confront the man who was waiting for her at the altar.

As she proceeded down the aisle, the soft rustle of her wedding gown filled the air, a stark contrast to the turmoil brewing inside her. The guests' faces blurred together, a sea of strangers witnessing her march towards a destiny she didn't choose.

Anna's eyes fixed on the figure standing at the altar, his features shrouded in mystery. Who was this man she was about to pledge her life to? And why did his gaze make her feel like he could see right through her?

As Anna approached him, her legs began to tremble and tears welled up in her eyes. Her mom placed her hand in his, and Anna felt a jolt of fear. His hands were warmer than she expected, sending a shiver down her spine. He reached up to lift her veil, and Anna closed her eyes, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Wo are you?" he thundered, his voice echoing through the hall like a crack of thunder. The sound sent Anna's heart racing, and she felt like she was going to collapse.

She was not the woman he was going to marry then who was she?

"Anna!" her dad shouted from behind, his voice laced with panic. Anna turned to run to him, but a hand grasped her forearm, spinning her around harshly. She stumbled, her heels clicking on the marble floor.

She looked down, avoiding eye contact, her heart pounding in her chest. "Michael, let go of her! She's not Kate!" her dad pleaded, his voice desperate. Michael's voice was firm, his tone unyielding.

"Look up!" Anna reluctantly met his gaze, and her heart skipped a beat. His eyes were beautiful, but his intensity was terrifying. They seemed to bore into her soul, searching for secrets she didn't want to reveal.

"Who are you?" he asked again, his voice low and menacing. Anna's voice trembled as she replied, "I'm her sister." Michael's hands wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer. Anna placed her hand on his chest, trying to maintain some distance, but he was too strong.

His warmth enveloped her, making her feel trapped. "Mr. Kendrick, I didn't know you had another beautiful daughter," Michael said, his voice low and husky.

"You've hidden her well. If I knew her before the other one there was no way I was going to let her go but look here a beauty threw herself in my arms by herself your plan of hiding her failed" Anna's fear escalated as Michael's knuckles caressed her cheek.

The touch sent shivers down her spine, and she felt a wave of nausea wash over her. "Now, tell me, kitten, where is your sister?" Michael's eyes seemed to gleam with amusement, but Anna sensed a darker intent lurking beneath the surface.

"She ran away with her boyfriend," Anna replied, her voice barely above a whisper. Michael's smirk sent shivers down her spine. "So, you're her replacement, huh?" Anna pleaded, "No, please! I don't want to marry you! I don't know you, please!"

She struggled to free herself from his grasp, but Michael's grip tightened. "Well, now you will. If you want to see your family alive, do you want them to die?" Anna shook her head, and Michael's response sent ice through her veins.

"Then marry me."

As the priest began the ceremony, Anna's mind reeled.

"Why me? Why it's always has to be me?" she thought, desperation creeping in.

The priest asked, "Do you take Anna Kendrick as your lawful wedded wife? Will you be there with her through highs and lows?"

Michael's response was firm. "I do." He held Anna close, his grip unyielding.

The question was asked from her too.

With a shaky breath she replied "I do" and she sealed her Fate.

"You may kiss the bride" the priest spoke.Anna's heart sank, trapped in a nightmare from which she couldn't awaken. The room began to spin, and she felt like she was going to pass out.

As Michael's lips brushed against hers, Anna felt a chill run down her spine. The kiss was cold, calculated, and devoid of passion. It was a kiss that sealed her fate, a fate she couldn't escape. Anna's eyes fluttered closed, and she whispered a silent prayer, hoping that somehow, someway, she would survive this marriage.
