Chapter 1- The first encounter

Matthew Christopher Lavelle was only seven years old when he first met Kavie Naycer, the newborn daughter of his father's business partner. He could still vividly recall that day when he walked into Kavie's home and saw her for the first time.

As he and his family arrived at the Naycer's home, they were greeted warmly by Kavie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Naycer.

"Welcome, welcome! It's so good to see you all again!" Mrs. Naycer exclaimed, leading them into the living room.

Matt's mother, Mrs. Lavelle, couldn't wait to meet the new addition to their friend's family. "Where's the little one? Can we see her?" she asked eagerly.

"Of course, she's right here," Mr. Naycer said, pointing to the cradle in the corner of the room.

As they walked over, they could hear Kavie's cries growing louder. Matt was a little nervous at the sight of the newborn, but he was also intrigued.

"Wow, she's so tiny," he whispered to his older sister, who was standing next to him.

Mrs. Lavelle picked up the crying baby, trying to soothe her. But nothing seemed to work until Matt offered his little finger to Kavie.

"Here, let me try," he said, placing his finger in Kavie's mouth. "Maybe she just needs something to suck on."

To everyone's surprise, Kavie stopped crying the moment she tasted Matt's finger. Matt couldn't help but chuckle as Kavie made a face and started crying again.

"I think she doesn't like the taste," Matt said, wiping his finger on his shirt. "I had some spicy chips before I came here."

Despite the initial hiccup, Matt quickly fell in love with Kavie. He would come over to her house every chance he got, just to play with her and hold her. Kavie's parents would watch in amusement as Matt showered their baby with kisses and squeezed her chubby cheeks.

As time went on, Matt's visits to the Naycer household became more frequent. He would often spend hours playing with Kavie and making her laugh.

One evening, while Matt was playing with Kavie in the living room, Mrs. Naycer walked in with a tray of snacks.

"Would you like some snacks, Matt?" she asked. "Your parents will be here soon for dinner."

Matt nodded eagerly and reached for a cookie, but Kavie had other plans. As soon as Matt's hand left her side, she started crying.

Mrs. Naycer smiled. "It looks like she doesn't want you to leave her," she said.

Matt felt a pang of sadness as he realized it was time for him to go. "I have to go now, Kavie," he said, kissing her forehead. "But I'll be back soon, I promise."

Kavie continued to cry as Matt said his goodbyes and left the house.

As Matt grew older, his love for Kavie only grew stronger. He would often daydream about her and wonder what she was doing, and he felt a pang of sadness whenever he had to leave her after a visit.

"I don't know what it is about her," Matt said to his mother one day. "But I feel like she's always been a part of my life, you know? Like we were meant to be friends."

Matt's mother smiled knowingly. "Maybe you're right, honey," she said. "Maybe you and Kavie were destined to be friends from the very beginning."
