Chapter 1
Nina steps off the bus, finally she's here, after three days on the road she's, tired, sore, hungry and dying for a hot shower.
She left breaking dawn a week ago, it would have been earlier but with alpha Jake missing, they couldn't do the severing ritual until he returned.
Nina grabs her bags, looking for the face of her brother Anthony, they haven't seen each other in 3 years, not since she joined her late mate's pack.
When she left breaking dawn Nina was lost, with nowhere to go she called her brother, he was excited to hear from her. He told her to come to Idaho.
Anthony had invited her to come stay with him and his mate Sasha, who was pregnant with their first pup and could really use the help, Nina being a nurse was a great bonus.
So here she was, in a strange place, standing in a bus station, completely out of her comfort zone...
Her head turns when she hears her name being called "Nina?, oh the goddess above is it really you?" She sees Anthony rushing towards her, his arms open wide, tears streaming down his rugged face.
Sobbing, she throws herself into her brothers embrace, it's been so long since she's felt love and support.
The two siblings pull back just staring at each other, " oh I can't believe you're really here sister" Anthony cries.
Nina nods, her words stuck in her throat, "it's been a long-time brother, a very long time", she finally says.
They both grab her luggage, walking out to the car, as they get in Anthony looks at his sister.
" Sasha wanted to come meet you, her pregnancy has been causing her a few health issues lately, would you mind giving her the once over when we get home, please my darling sister?".
Nina giggles at his pouty face " yes of course I will, you big baby".
With a loud laugh, they set off, on the two-hour drive to what will be, her new home and pack.
Logan's POV
I'm sitting in my office, forms everywhere, my beta usually deals with the pack transfers, but he's gone to pick up his sister, who he hasn't seen in a few years.
I've been alpha of this pack for 10 years, after my father, murdered my mother in a fit of jealous rage.
He had convinced himself that his gamma, and his mate were having an affair, no matter how many times we all tried to reassure him he wouldn't listen.
One night my dad had been called out to deal with some rouges, when he returned, he had found my mum and Richard having coffee, laughing at some joke they had heard.
To anyone else it would have looked innocent, two friends sharing a laugh, but not him. In his twisted, fucked up mind they were laughing at him, his stupidity for not realizing his wife was sleeping with another man.
Seeing red, my father had shifted into his massive black wolf, before they had even been given a chance to react, my father had killed his gamma.
I can just imagine her pleading with him she had pleaded with him, he was the love of her life , she could never betray him.
It was too late, his mind too far gone, he snapped her neck, killing her instantly.
When he had shifted back, the reality of what he'd done hit home. When we discovered the scene, we also found my father's dead naked body next to my mum's, single silver bullet to his head.
Standing up and stretching I think about the new pack member, she's arriving tomorrow, Anthony has spoken about his sister many times over the years, she met her mate while she was in Kansas for a medical conference.
Unfortunately, he had been killed in a rouge attack shortly after they met, Nina had set her sights on the alpha Jake, when he met his mate, she spiralled.
After saving the Luna from a wolf attack, her mind had cleared, and she left her pack to start fresh.
I turn as I hear a soft knock on the door, I smile as I smell my little mate on the other side, I open the door her beautiful face peering at me.
" Hello, my love, to what do I owe this pleasure?", I ask her, my eyes roaming her sexy body.
She giggles, throwing herself in my arms, kissing me feverishly. I kick the door closed, my mate clinging to me.
" Let's make a pup " she says to me. We have been trying for a baby for 6 years, each time we get a negative pregnancy result, I feel Lisa getting more and more depressed.
We make quick work of taking our clothes off, I bend her over my desk, fucking her hard, until we both are crying out our release.
After we both dress, she looks at me, hope in her eyes " I think this was it, I really do Logan" her hopeful eyes break my heart, please goddess, give us the pup she so desperately craves.
Later that night in bed, with my mate fast asleep next to me. I can't help but feel, as if tomorrow's going to be the day, everything changes for us all.
