Chapter 1: Allistopia
A mile away from home, that is where I am going. I never really liked my hometown because the people were really weird and a little mean too. I guess I used to live in Brina, New York. It's a small town by the coast of New York and we are currently moving to Allistopia. And I don't know which state it is in so I am confused. As we are heading nearer and nearer my stomach is in twists and knots. My mom found out about Allistopia in a newsletter right by the sports section. I had a weird feeling about this place because they gave away 10,000 dollars along with a home, and free pet. And that seemed fishy. We were one of the lucky ones who won the raffle to go to Allistopia. I guess I should include my step-brother and dad but to be honest I feel like they aren't really a part of my life. As the road stops we are here. We head into the new house that is marked "Thompson's Home" up at the top of our house. But, considering that this house was free and gave away free money, our house was pretty small comparing to all the other houses by the side. My mom, step-dad, and step brother were all in to this idea from the start. I never really considered moving here and told my mom that "This might be a scam" before we started driving. It looks perfect, It feels perfect but something is off. It's too perfect, why did the people select us? We were just an average family. Now, on the newsletter, it said "WE CHOSE YOU TO GO TO ALLISTOPIA"
And then, we won. And on the newsletter it also said that the people of the city or town were going to select a random family and chose us. This all moved fast, too fast. We unpacked our boxes into our designated rooms, and I was disappointed that the people chose our bedrooms. But speaking of the people, there were no people outside to congratulate us or say hi. I thought maybe the people were possibly a bit rude. And with the 10,000 dollars my mom bought a car. It was Monday and luckily for us we have to go to school right after we were unloading boxes yesterday. I barely had enough sleep because I just slept on the hard floor with nothing there. So, I slept through all of my classes, and I made a bad impression on the first day. I don't really care about my grades anymore but since its the first day I have straight A's. But, the kids there were strange. Each kid had a serial number including me. This felt like artificial intelligence was controlling these kids. My mom had her first day at work too, she was now a project manager for a food company that runs here in Allistopia. And apparently, its the only food that exists here, and the are called Blessings. When, I got home, I didn't have any homework at all but instead you have to record what you were doing including during dinner and my step - brother also had this problem but he was happy that he was going to be a "youtuber". It's very secretive so you can't upload them online, and even if you did it wouldn't be possible because there is no internet in Allistopia.
It was Tuesday and my stepdad packed me lunch, and in my lunch was the last "Doritos" bag I was ever going to eat, so this meant a lot to me. All the kids in my school wanted a piece of "doritos" instead of "Sandwich Blessings" and they tasted terrible, it was like the bread was broccoli and the insides were blood. And even the milk tasted bad. It tasted expired, and probably was expired. When lunch was over, I felt a little homesick and now I wanted to go back home instead of hanging around with these weirdos.
