Chapter 1

Once upon a time, long ago, there was a young farm boy who lived in a quiet little valley past the lavender mountains. He lived with his mother and father on a cozy little farm right next to Millers’ forest. They lived peaceful lives on that farm, the work was hard but rewarding. The farm boy’s father worked hard farming crops and taking care of the family. He made his son work hard like him. But the boy had no interest in working the fields. He preferred to sit under the Great Peach Tree atop a hill.

The young farm boy would read stories of knights with shining armor who rode white horses and went on dangerous adventures to fight unknown evils. He also read stories of wizards with long robes, white beards, and powerful magic full of mystery. But his favorite stories were about kind kings whose hearts were worth more than all of their gold.

The boy was timid and didn’t have any close friends. He liked to spend his time reading under the shade of trees. He liked fishing near the pond by an abandoned shed he called Robins Den. He enjoyed the sound of pond birds and the smell of the Great Peach Tree. He was content with being alone and enjoying the sunsets, but even with such pleasure, he did get rather lonely.
