A Lonely Night
Although your light be bright
Warm as a summer sun
Your cries at night
Tear my heart from my chest!
And crush it beneath your thumb.
I want to hold you close.
And cleanse you of your pain.
But I cannot touch you.
So, I stir here.
Crying with you in the rain
Your ivory skin and rosy cheeks
Nurture my soul!
And your maternal nature
Does soothe my aches.
But you lie there broken.
And there is nothing I can do.
Sadly, I could not fix you.
I felt weak against your pain.
Like a feral beast
It ate you from within
And I stir here, alone.
Crying for you in the rain
