Twist of fate.

(Yue POV)

Today was already going bad and I swear it’s going to get worse as I walked to my favorite little café called Moon crest café. The owners are twin brother and sister that are both humans. I’m a werewolf, and most of the rest of us are on as well. There are some magic users, other shape shifters and the rest will be humans. Unlike the humans that live with the vampire who lives there only to be blood donors and serve them, but here they are protective to live their lives as they wish. I decided since it was a chilly spring morning that I would wear my favorite black sweater and my stone wash blue jeans with ripped knees. I also wore I realize the time was getting late as I knew I needed to get there before the lunch time rush. I also didn’t want to miss out on all the fresh pastries that are made freshly every morning by Stephanie, and her brother Zachary.

As I finally got through the doors that I noticed a girl sitting alone, but what got my attention more was the way she was acting. Her hair was a very dark brown, tanish skin, and pretty, but she looked to be on the edge. She was wearing a tight black long sleeve shirt, black skirt, and high heel short boots. I think she’s human but it’s hard to tell because I sense nothing from her, but before I can get to her just to be hit in the face with all the wonderful smell of Danishes, Macaroons, Éclairs, and those black berry tarts that I’m smelling.

“OMG…Yue!!!”

I see Stephanie running toward me covered in flour and other things that smells very sweet. Her long curly brown hair was tied back, and her hazel eyes twinkled with the brightest smile on her face. She wraps her arms around me, and it’s like I can smell everything that she made this morning. It was weird but I’m sure that I saw the girl from the corner of my eye jump slightly as Steph wrapped her arms around me.

“I’m so happy you came in today, and I know Zack will be happy as well. He was hoping you will come by and that’s why he wouldn’t get off my back about making the black berry tarts for you.”

“Where is Zack boy?”

“Still in the back getting the rest of the donuts glazed and ready to bring them out. Are you in the mood for a cold or a hot drink with your black berry tart?”

I had to really think about that question, and it is a very chilly spring morning. So, a nice hot drink will do nicely to get the chill out of my body.

“I feel like a caramel vanilla white hot chocolate to go with my delicious tart.”

She giggles as she heads toward the counter, but I see that girl watching us very closely as I walk over to the counter.

“Hey Steph, do you know who the girl is over there?”

She looked at the girl in the corner as if it was the first time, she had noticed her at all.

“Maybe Zack served, or maybe talked to her.”

I watch as she makes my drink but still keep an eye on the girl. She seemed to be watching everything and everyone around her. She and both seemed to jump as the door slammed open with three guys walking into the Café, but I knew who all three of them. The guy who is over 6-foot, looks to be a body builder, dark brown hair that isn’t short nor too long that he likes to slick back, oh yeah were-bear and his name is Damien Black. He is also my older brother Sephiroth best friend. Next to him is Cain Bulacan, who is a little shorter but not by much with longer curly brown hair that almost all the none mated female and some males would want to be with. He’s also our Gamma Sebastian little brother.

The third guy is the one that I never want to be left in a room alone, and his name is Carlos Panthera. He’s only 5”10”, long black hair, ice blue eyes and very lean muscles, but he I think the deadliest of all three of them. He’s a were panther, and just like a cat that is graceful as he walks toward the counter never once taking his eyes off me. It felt as if his icy blue eyes were looking deep into my soul making it as if I had no choice but to not move.

“If it isn’t our favorite little princess.”

Before I knew it that I was being pulled into a bear hug that is Damien. I know other people would run the other way when they see him because not only can he look scary, but his bear could shard a person apart in seconds. To me he’s like a big soft teddy bear, but it pisses him off when I tell him that.

“What are you doing here, little pup?”

I just glared at Carlos over Damien shoulder wanting to just starch his eyes out. I’m tired of him calling me a pup and being so mean to me. He will pull my hair, pushes me down when he passes by, and one time he even pushed me against the wall biting my shoulder. I wanted to tell my brother but his sister Nora that I wouldn’t, because he’s all she has left after the rest of their family were killed by vampires, and sadly she’s one of my close’s friends.

“Hey Yue, I have your drink and tart.”

“How much?”

“Your silly, you know your money not good here. If it wasn’t for your family, then we would never even be here to have business. It was your father that rescue my parents from the vampires.”

“Then I guess I’m leaving a really big tip.”

After getting out of a bear hug from a real bear, I quickly and happily skipped over to my tart to have it taken from me.

“Give me back my tart Carlos!”

“What, you can’t share this delicious looking black berry tart with me? With someone I know you secretly having a crush on.”

“Like hell do I have a crush on you!”

He walks over to as he takes his damn finger dipping it into my tart then licking his finger. As I tried to get it from him that he moved back so quickly, running into the girl that was sitting in the corner. I don’t even remember her getting up, but just as he hits her that I hear a hiss come from her, and as she looks at me that I can see now that she’s a vampire. Her eyes were like a golden color, and there was like a darkness around her that left me cold. Before I could even react, that Carlos had his hand around her throat as she bears her fangs to him, but as I looked closer that I see tears going down her face. Is she scared? Why did I not sense that she was a vampire when I first seen her.

“What are you doing in our territory, you filthy blood sucker?”

“Please let me go, I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I just got lost and didn’t know where to go.”

“Shut your fucken mouth, and just die pathetic mosquito.”

I watched as his claws start digging into her neck, and the blood running down her. I know I’m supposed to hate her, but all I feel is how scared she is right now, and that I can’t let Carlos kill her. So, I know what I need to do, and that is me to save this girl, this vampire girl. I reach deep down inside me to where my powers lye knowing what I need to do, and that’s to put this dumb ass to sleep. I could do more than that but why? I just need him to let her go so I can get out of here with her. I pushed the powers into his back as I watched him letting go of her and both going to the ground. I hurried up grabbing her hand pulling her to the door.

“What are you doing Yue?”

I can hear Damien yelling but I chose not to react to it, because I know if I don’t get this girl out of here that she will be killed. I need to get a good distance from there before going into wolf form, because I know I am faster than anyone here. As soon as we get at least a mile away and I know we are not being followed by anyone that I take her to an area where I can take my clothes off, like a wooded area. I started to strip as I heard her clearing her throat.

“I’m sorry, but what are you doing?”

“I need to get you out of here and the fastest way to do that will be in my wolf form, and I’m not ripping my clothes doing that.”

“I mean, why are you trying to save me? You do know that I’m a vampire?”

“Because you’re still a living breathing person that never did anything to me, so why should I hate you?”

I finish up taking my clothes off and transforming into my wolf Zira. She’s at least 5 feet tall if not more, silver fur, ice blue eyes, and oh yeah, she has 9 tails. She’s faster and stronger than any other wolf but my older brother. My powers are even twice as strong in this form, but the question has always been is why I am like this. My father once told me that I was born too early after my mother dying that he prayed to the moon goddess to save me because he knew my mother that’s what she would have wanted. After so long of him praying that she came to him granting him his wish, and by doing so that I must have gotten some of her in me. For her wolf also is pure silver with 9 tails.

‘Alright Zira, it’s your turn to take over.’

‘I understand Yue, and I will get her to safety.’

I know Zira’s heart and I know she will do all that she can to save this vampire no matter what.
