Draw Your Own Destiny: How a Magic Pencil Changed Everything for Sam and Lily

The Magic Pencil

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Sam who loved to draw. He had a big box of crayons and a sketchbook that he always carried with him. He liked to draw animals, plants, cars, houses, and anything else that he saw or imagined.

He lived in a small town with his parents and his little sister. His parents worked hard to provide for the family, but they didn’t have much money. They couldn’t afford to buy Sam new toys or books or clothes. Sam didn’t mind. He was happy with his crayons and his sketchbook. He felt that he could create his own world with them.

His little sister, Lily, was four years old and she adored Sam. She liked to watch him draw and sometimes she tried to copy him. She also liked to play with the things that he drew. She pretended that they were real and that they could talk to her.

Sam didn’t mind sharing his drawings with Lily. He loved her very much and he wanted to make her happy. He often drew things that she liked, such as dolls, teddy bears, and princesses.

One day, he found a shiny silver pencil on the street. He picked it up and decided to try it out. He opened his sketchbook and drew a picture of a cat. To his surprise, the cat came to life and jumped out of the page. It was a black and white cat with green eyes and a pink nose. It looked at Sam and meowed.

“Wow! A magic pencil!” Sam exclaimed. He was amazed and delighted. He decided to draw more things and see what would happen.

He drew a flower, a bird, a balloon, and a cake. All of them came to life and filled his room with color and sound. The flower smelled sweet, the bird sang a song, the balloon floated in the air, and the cake tasted delicious.

Lily came into the room and saw the magic things. She was overjoyed and hugged Sam.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” she said. “You are the best brother ever!”

Sam smiled and hugged her back.

“You’re welcome, Lily,” he said. “I’m glad you like them.”

They played with the magic things for a while. They fed the cat some milk, they smelled the flower, they chased the bird, they popped the balloon, and they ate the cake.

They had so much fun that they didn’t notice that their parents had come home from work.

Their parents were shocked and angry when they saw the mess in the room.

“What is going on here?” their father shouted.

“Who did this?” their mother asked.

Sam and Lily looked at each other nervously.

“It was me,” Sam said bravely. “I found this magic pencil and I drew these things.”

He showed them the pencil and the sketchbook.

Their parents didn’t believe him.

“Don’t lie to us,” their father said sternly. “There is no such thing as a magic pencil.”

“It’s true,” Lily said innocently. “Look at the cat. It’s alive.”

She pointed at the cat, but it was gone.

The cat had sneaked out of the window while they were talking.

“There is no cat,” their mother said coldly. “You are making things up.”

She took the pencil from Sam’s hand and threw it in the trash.

She took the sketchbook from his hand and tore it apart.

She threw the pieces in the trash too.

She said that they were wasting paper and money.

She said that they should be studying instead of drawing nonsense.

She said that they were grounded for a week.

She sent them to their room without dinner.

Sam and Lily cried as they went to their room.

They felt sad and angry.

They felt that their parents didn’t understand them or love them.

They wished they had their magic pencil back.

They wished they could escape from their unhappy home.

The next day, Sam woke up early and sneaked out of his room.

He went to the trash can outside and looked for his magic pencil.

He hoped that it was still there.

He hoped that it still worked.

He found it among the garbage and felt relieved.

He cleaned it with his shirt and put it in his pocket.

He decided to run away from home with Lily.

He thought that they could find a better place to live with their magic pencil.

He went back to his room and woke up Lily.

He told her his plan and she agreed to go with him.

She trusted him completely.

They packed some clothes and food in their backpacks.

They left a note for their parents saying that they were sorry and that they loved them, but they had to go.

They sneaked out of the house and walked to the bus station.

They bought two tickets to the city with the money that they had saved from their allowance.

They boarded the bus and sat in the back.

They looked out of the window and saw their town getting smaller and smaller.

They felt scared and excited at the same time.

They wondered what they would see in the city.

They wondered where they would stay.

They wondered if they had made a mistake.

They held each other’s hand and hoped for the best.

They arrived in the city after a few hours.

The city was big and noisy and crowded.

There were tall buildings, busy streets, bright lights, and strange people.

Sam and Lily felt overwhelmed and lost.

They got off the bus and looked around.

They didn’t know where to go or what to do.

They decided to find a park where they could rest and draw some things with their magic pencil.

They asked a friendly-looking lady for directions and she pointed them to a nearby park.

They thanked her and walked to the park.

The park was green and peaceful. There were trees, flowers, benches, and a fountain. There were also some children playing and some adults relaxing.

Sam and Lily felt more comfortable in the park. They found a quiet spot under a tree and sat down. They opened their backpacks and took out their food. They ate some sandwiches and cookies. They drank some water. They felt better after eating.

They decided to draw some things with their magic pencil. They wanted to make some friends and have some fun.

Sam opened his sketchbook and drew a picture of a dog. He liked dogs. He thought they were loyal and friendly. He drew a brown dog with floppy ears and a wagging tail. The dog came to life and licked Sam’s face. Sam laughed and petted the dog. He named him Spot.

Lily opened her sketchbook and drew a picture of a doll. She liked dolls. She thought they were pretty and sweet. She drew a blonde doll with blue eyes and a pink dress. The doll came to life and smiled at Lily. Lily smiled back and hugged the doll. She named her Daisy.

Sam and Lily played with their magic things for a while. They threw a ball for Spot, they combed Daisy’s hair, they talked to them, they cuddled them.

They felt happy and loved.

Some of the other children in the park noticed them and came over. They were curious about their magic things. They asked them questions and complimented them.

Sam and Lily felt shy but friendly. They answered their questions and shared their things.

They made some new friends in the park. They played with them for a while. They had more fun than they ever had before.

They forgot about their problems for a while.

They forgot that they had run away from home.

They forgot that they didn’t have a place to stay.

They forgot that they were alone in the city.

The end.
