Gamble on Love

“On my soul Bianca a foul ass bitch!” Jupiter said as Theo looked at his best friend’s phone.

Jupiter was just as unique as his name. His smooth chocolate skin seemed to be perfection as his straight white teeth and dimpled smile only complete his look of a God. He had broad shoulders since he was 16 and played ball standing the same height of 6′2 at the age of 25.

“Damn fam you sure it’s her?” He asked and Jupiter swiped to the right of the video still.

Anyone who knew Bianca knew that the rosary and butterflies tattooed on her arm and hand were a dead giveaway.

Bianca was the opposite of Jupiter with her light skin and hazel eyes. She was a beauty. Really that’s how he fell for her. It was just over the time he knew she was more than a 5′2 stacked frame with a pretty smile. Looking at the video in the present moment erased all those things, all the good things. Bianca within minutes had become nothing to him.

“So she out here fuckin Q?” Theo asked and Jupiter sighed.

He was seeing the same thing he was.

Bianca and Jupiter had been on and off since high school.

Their relationship wasn’t perfect but one line they would never cross was cheating on each other. To make matters worse she was sucking Q, Jupiter’s old best friend turned enemy dick on camera. The video being passed around was an embarrassment but even more so when it got to him.

Before they knew it there was banging on the hotel door and Theo looked.

“That’s why yo ass canceled tha other room?” Theo asked and Jupiter gave him a look.

He was asking the most obvious of things.

“Look don’t be mad at me be mad at her ass.” He said sucking his teeth.

They were all out on vacation courtesy of Jupiter who had just secured a design deal. It was a conflicting feeling knowing that Bianca had always supported him and encouraged his dreams. She told him if he would stop hustling he would go somewhere. He had all intention of taking her with him, hell that’s why they were in Las Vegas now.

Jupiter figured it was time to stop the back and forth with their breakups and instead get married.

They knew each other for nearly 10 years and had been together for half of them.

But history and love sometimes didn’t correlate to honesty and loyalty.

As they stood there all that could be heard was Bianca and her friends screaming as they banged on the door to their suite.

The room phone rang as Jupiter kept replaying the video in his head.

Theo brushed him off snatching the hotel phone off the hook and answered.

“Hello?” Theo answered.

“Na they don’t stay in this room.” He said and Jupiter looked at him.

He was going to stop him but shrugged.

He paid round trip for Bianca and her two friends. Jupiter got two suits but immediately canceled his other room after he watched the video. He left all their bags outside of the room door and sent them all their changed itinerary via text to leave out tonight.

It was a matter of 20 minutes before everything changed.

Theo had been smoking and laughing until Jupiter showed him the video he had seen only 5 minutes prior to them banging on the door.

“Juju!!!!′ Bianca banged on the door with her friends.

Theo knew he wasn’t going to answer so instead he put the security latch on and cracked the door as he heard Bianca and her friends yelling.

Theo was the same height as Jupiter with golden brown skin. He was a bit more flashy but all around he was a good guy and had been Jupiter’s right hand since middle school. The two went back way back and that’s why even when Jupiter said he was going to work on his dream Theo supported him.

Really that’s why he was there now, to support him in his next journey in life.

“Aye B. I’m not goin to lie shit is not lookin too good for you. Jus gon head and take that flight home and-” Theo started but one of the woman’s hands reached through trying to grab onto him.

“Bitch let me go.” He said shoving the hands away.

“Theo what the fuck-” Bianca yelled but was cut off by one of her friends.

“B?” One of the women said and Theo peeked out seeing her raise her phone showing Bianca what he assumed to be the video.

It was the only time they had been quiet for the last 5 minutes.

“No, no, no.” Bianca started to panic.

She grabbed at the door and Theo shook his head,

“Ju this shit is not what it looks like!” Bianca screamed and Theo didn’t even hear him coming as Jupiter shut the door and removed the security latch.

Jupiter stood with a look of regret as he looked directly into Bianca’s eyes.

“That’s you?” He asked her and she sighed.

“Ju we were broke up-” She tried and he looked at her with disgust.

“Yet both these hoes wit you offered to suck me up each and erry time we broke up.” He paused scoffing at the fact he was the loyal one in all of this.

He never cheated on her. He may have dated other women when they were broken up but he would have never stooped as to have dated her enemy or friend. The fact they weren’t dating but fucking didn’t make it better.

“I could have fucked Sam bout 5 times now and Kiki?” He looked at her other friend.

Both Sam and Kiki started shifting but neither we’re in a rush to deny the claims mostly because it was true and one time Bianca had caught them in the act of trying to talk to Jupiter.

“Ironic cause fa real I should have.” He said and hotel security finally made it to their floor.

“Uhm we received a complaint-” They started as they approached.

“These women were leaving. They gotta flight to catch it was just a mix up.” Jupiter said Bianca had tears coming down her eyes.

“Coulda been anyone else but you chose him.” Jupiter scoffed once more in disappointment.

He didn’t say anything else seeing the women had finally calmed down with all their yelling and in all truth, they couldn’t even say he was in the wrong.

Bianca wiped her face as she tried to reach for him but he snatched away and shut his room door.

“Can you believe we got this suite last minute?” Liberty said as she walked in with her cousin Nysahn and her best friend Danayla.

Liberty spun around in the suite she was oh so excited to luckily have gotten.

It had a large entryway, a small living room, and two rooms opposite each other.

Due to a recent change in plans because of her cousin’s piss poor planning the group was nearly out of a place to stay as he booked a house that never even existed.

“That’s cause we look good.” Danayla said as she shot a look at Nysahn.

She was not going to let it die down that he was at fault.

Liberty wasn’t going to let anything stop her from enjoying her trip as she headed for the patio to open the doors.

She stood in a green mini-dress that seemed to hug her small curves. Her chocolate skin was everything as it seemed to beam even in the sun. Liberty like Danayla was a pretty face and she was sure that is why people, mostly men never took her seriously.

Liberty stood 5′5 with a set of full lips and curves for days.

Danayla was much thicker than Liberty but with a flat stomach and wide hips, she wasn’t someone, well anyone to look past.

She stood nearly the same height as her friend except she had light brown skin.

“Are you goin to nag tha whole damn trip?” Nysahn asked.

He was Liberty’s first cousin and he and Danayla had a history.

He was sure he could do a trip with them since he was going to have his own room but that all fell through with their plans.

“Yea, yawl can stay here and I’ll go out by myself cause I can enjoy this.” Liberty said taking in a deep breath.

It was just as beautiful as she thought it would be.

This was going to be her year she told herself and she deserved it.

Not only did she put herself through college but she got a good job, a new place, and the only thing that was missing was a new man.

Liberty wasn’t really looking for love because of Kellen.

She had thought he was it for her and when it all came down to it she really didn’t know Kellen.

A week ago she scoffed at the idea of wasting 5 years of her life for a man who could never really commit how she wanted him to.

Kellen ideally was perfect. He was fine, good job, nice car, and good sex. The thing was he was apparently giving both his money and good sex to his 21 year old girlfriend. Liberty found all this out a week ago and tired of him popping up and blowing up her phone she changed her number and went on a random trip.

It was well overdue since he had promised her each year they would take a trip but it always turned into ‘he was to busy’ or had ‘work’ to do.

Liberty figured she had worked too but always made time for him even when she was struggling working two jobs to pay for graduation and even helping with his tuition.

Liberty felt naïve that the two planned a whole life together and in the end, she was sure he had no real intention of marrying her as he had promised.

“Look cuz we made it let’s just enjoy this shit.” Nysahn said and as much as Danayla wanted to roll her eyes she nodded.

" F R E E FUCK NIGGA FREE!” Danayla started and Nysahn shot her a look.

“Almost.” Danayla said dancing. And Liberty couldn’t help but laugh.

“Miss. ion need no nigga fa shit.” Danayla laughed.

“About that. I said I got the trip but there was a small catch.” Liberty said.

“See ion like how that’s starting.” Nysahn said and Liberty took a seat.

“All I did was take back the exact amount I spent on his school the last two years.” She said and Nysahn’ s jaw dropped and Danayla leaned over holding her stomach as she laughed.

“What? I paid for that and instead of wrecking his place I jus took what was mine, removed my name from his bank accounts, and yea.” She said and Nysahn shook his head.

“So what it’s coo he played her like that, took years. Her money, her time, her whole college experience makin shit about him but the one time she does somethin she’s over the top?” Danayla looked at him and even he knew it was valid.

He had been complaining for years about Liberty going over the top for Kellen so maybe she was right.

“Well its too late to dwell on it now. We’re here.” He said and the ladies nodded.

“Exactly so now, what is the first thing we do?” Liberty put her hands on her hips as the both looked at her.
