Keep Holding the World, Please?

The world was falling around her.

That's what it felt like, anyway.

As if Atlas had given up on his duty and let the world crumble. Lilia could almost imagine him staring down at the world as stars pierced the ground and the night sky merged with the once calm oceans, forming tsunamis that overtook beaches and cities. Little lights sniffing out. That sounded like it could be in a poem. Almost poetic, right?

Lilia repeated her daydream to her brother later that day with a smile, almost as if she enjoyed the vision of the world collapsing. Her brother, Rhodes, only sighed and smiled at her.

"And who do you think let the world fall?" Lilia asked, as if she were questioning a suspect for a murder case.

"Well, based on what you told me, Atlas let the world crumble," Rhodes went along with her. It wasn't uncommon for his sister to be repeating him her daydreams multiple times a day.

"You would be correct!" Lilia clapped happily, "But I kind of do hope Atlas continues holding the world. I don't really want it to end."

Rhodes nodded, hoping she'd slowly tire of this conversation.

"I kinda feel bad for him, even though he's kinda a bad guy," she continued, "Aw, well, back to maths.."
