THE BREAK UP
[This is a short story!]
There once was a woman. She had an abusive husband. His name was Mr. Bruff. Their relationship was good at first, but after they got married it turned pretty awful. He yelled at her, hit her, and punched holes in the wall.
Now let’s talk about her kids. One was named Layla and the other was named Rose. Layla and Rose didn’t like Mr. Bruff. Layla was okay with him. She just didn’t like the step-siblings. But Rose hated both him and his kids. The step-siblings were annoying, and Mr. Bruff was always yelling at the two - mainly Rose. Rose and Layla had their reasons not to like Mr. Bruff. When he came, Mrs. Bruff (the woman) acted like she loved his kids more than her own.
Rose had another reason to dislike her mother’s husband. Rose wished earnestly for her real father and her mother to get back together.
Now let’s get back to Mrs. Bruff. One night, she decided that she had enough of getting beat. She told Mr. Bruff to leave and that she was done with their relationship. He punched the wall but left.
But he came back!
Late at night, Mrs. Bruff locked the back door and Rose locked the front. This happened quite often. It was because she was scared of his return. Once, she left Laylaand Rose at home. Mrs. Bruff went out to a convention, but unfortunately, Mr. Bruff was there, and he brought friends.
They pushed Mrs.Bruff onto a nearby bench. She yelled helplessly.“Let me go!” Mr.Bruff pulled out a pistol and demanded her to get back with him. But just as she began to think that it was all over for her, a security guard came and took Mr.Bruff away. His friends ran.
Later, Mr. Bruff’s sister (who was not like Mr. Bruff at all) went up to Mrs. Bruff and said she was sorry, and that she didn’t know her brother would do that. And just like that, she returned home to her kids and continued to live her life.
