Chapter 1 - Elven
The smell of oak and fire was lingering. I stood up all grubby. My dirty blond hair in a messy bun. I walked to the bathroom and stared at the mirror, I had stretch marks all over my face. Yawning I walked down to the shower. 'I should take a shower' I thought to myself.
I walked out the bathroom to see my sister kaya sprawled across the floor. "Kaya!" I screamed. She jumped up and looked around till she saw me. "Jane? Where are we again? Oh, yeah. I remember..no, actually I dont.." this woman wasn't thinking right. She looked back at me. "Jane, what's going on..where's Mama?" I just stared at her, her rose red lips and light blond hair spread across her back. Kaya was my twin. She only had me, and I only had her.
"Kaya, did you take your meds?" I asked while sitting beside her, "Always take your meds, they're important" as I took them out the packet in the shelf beside my bed, a knock appeared on the door. "Hello?" Said a rough voice. "Jane, Kaya? You guys in there?" That voice sounded familiar. "Is that solis?" Asked Kaya. "Can you not hear from my voice?" Said Solis, sarcastically, "Now let me in!" He demanded. I stood up and opened the door. There was Solis, standing in a white shirt and black shorts. His copper hair which lengthed till his neck was in a ponytail. He had milky brown skin and coral green eyes.
"What do you want?" I asked. "Are you guys ready?" I looked at him dumbfounded. "For what?" I asked. He just stared down at me. "Have you forgotten? School?" Oh, I remember, how could I forget, we were starting our new school next week, and we only have 3 days left.
"Oh, yeah, how could I forget, we will be out soon, just getting ready!" I fake laughed. "Well, be quick" with that he walked away. I turned around to Kaya. "I'll get ready, can you finish up the packing? I'll help when I'm done." She nodded and I walked to the toilet.
I was finally ready, my hair braided and I was wearing a beige coloured jumper and black jeans with trainers. Kaya followed, she wore a light purple dress that went till her ankles and her hair was in a ponytail, neatly brushed. We both took a seat at the table, Solis was flipping some pancakes and they looked delicious.
"Now that I think about it, you've never really told us about the school we are going to," I quarried, Kaya nodded in agreement. Solis sighed, he quickly finished up the pancakes, gave me and Kaya some and left the leftover for Felix.
"Thank you, Solis!" Smiled Kaya. "Anything for my sisters" Smiled back Solis. He patted both our heads and sat down in between me and Kaya. "You guys already know that I'm your half brother right?" We both nodded. "Do you know my dad?" We shakes our heads. "I think it would be better if you saw for yourselves," "Aww, I really wanted to know, and what does your family have to do with this?" "As I said, it's better for you to see for yourselves," And he left it with that.
We sat there in silence till Felix walked in his blood red coloured hair flowing and his coal black eyes stared at me as he walked by. I waved at him but he just brushed it of. "My food?" Demanded Felix standing there. My brother just scowled at him, they never really liked eachother. "Come one guys! Cheer up!" Smiled Kaya. Without her they might have started a sword fight already, I don't even know where they got the swords from but they always had this one sword by their side. Felix called his 'Apollo' and somehow never explained the reason for that name. And my brother called his 'Sunshine' for some odd reason. We had training ever since we were the age of 10 we received training and now at the age of 19 we were really experienced, but to be honest I am way better than Kaya. She never liked sword training but still continued for my brother's sake.
We all finished our food and were finally ready. My brother guided me and Kaya outside to the backyard. We were confused. He whistled and a majestic creature appeared from the sky, black fur, a majestic mane and a horn? Wait a second, a unicorn. I stood there paralysed, a real unicorn? Just a few seconds later I found myself sitting in one next to Felix while, while Kaya sat with Solis on another.
"I told you, it's better I show you!" Laughed Solis. "Where are we going?" I asked. "To Elven, the land of creatures of all!"
