SEASON OF LOVE

Standing in the balcony , my thin and narrow hands held the balcony railing very tightly thinking how things can get more complicated, how my life could be more messed up. I couldn't sleep as tomorrow was my first day as a hotel manager in 'Hotel 69'. I wouldn't say that this is my dream job but a job to satisfy the needs.

"Fuck! ", I screamed as it was already 8am and I couldn't be late on the first day of my job. I grabbed my towel and went to take shower. I put on my dress which is a red colour pant and a shirt. "Ah! I just hate this colour" . I put on some makeup and stood in front of the mirror-- " Nancy......come on! You can do it. Don't be nervous . You've got this Nancy Bloom " , with that I grabbed my car keys and put on my stilettoes and locked the door of my apartment.

"Oh my goodness!! What is this place , probably a heaven " I said . I have never been to any five star hotel . This is the first time I have been to such a beautiful place . Suddenly I heard a phone call and well yes it's from my best friend Sam.

"Hello! Nancy?", She screamed out of excitement "Have you reached the hotel?" "How is it"? "What are you doing?"

"Hello! Sam....yes I have reached and it's a heaven"

"Wow! I am so happy for you Nancy Bloom-- Go girl! Take care of yourself and call me when you get back home" , she said

"Yeah sure....", I replied.

I entered the hotel and I see a man standing in a blue formal suit . He had a dashing personality and a cosmic smile . Suddenly he walks towards me .

"Hey! I am Steve and I am the head of the department here....Are you here for the managers position?

"Hey! I am Nancy....yes , I am the new hotel manager " , I smiled.

"Well then it's your big day today" , he said.

"Yes.....", I replied.

"Yes it is but today we have got a huge dinner to manage", he said.

"Wait , what -- a huge dinner on the very first day of my job .A huge dinner to manage sounds crazy but the vibe of this hotel makes me want to give my best"

"Oh! A huge dinner to manage on the first day sounds good " , I laugh.

Steve showed me the hotel and I am amazed . There are over 200 single and double rooms with private bathroom and 50 luxurious suites . Rooms are both comfortable and elegant with full baths , sturdy and rustic wooden furniture . I met the other staff members and they are all busy in the preparations for tonight dinner.

"Is it a very special dinner?" I asked Steve.

"Yes , There is an important business meeting going on tonight" , he said.

"What's the meeting about?" , I asked.

"I don't know but everyone here has been warned to give their best and make no mistake" , he said.

Those words made me nervous . A slight mistake and this job is out of my hands . I can't take that risk . I have to give my best .

It's 7pm and the guests have arrived . There are around 25 people in the room . But the meeting hasn't started yet . Seems like they are waiting for someone . I am standing at the corner of the dining table . The waiters are serving them with chicken wings , cocktail , wine .

It's already 8:30 pm and still the meeting hasn't started . Steve is standing right beside me .

"What are they waiting for?" , I asked Steve .

" I don't know . Maybe they are waiting for someone " , he said .

Suddenly the door opens and I see a man coming inside the room .

A tall man with grey colour eyes appears . His eyes were like the fog on a winding road , blurring my vision and muddling my sense of direction . He is handsome and I couldn't get my eyes off him . He is wearing a black formal suit .

"Oh my goodness ! Ethan Sinclair" , a women shouted .

"Hey beautiful" , he said.

" Where have you been? We were waiting for you" , the women asked.

"I am so sorry darling , I was stuck in traffic " , he said.

Darling -- woah! He totally looks like a Playboy . There are around 10 women in this room and he is sitting with them . Suddenly his eyes met mine . He is staring at me . I have never felt this nervous in my entire life . A women calls him and we loose the eye contact.

"So Mr handsome , what are your plans for tonight" , she asked .

"I don't have any plans for tonight" , he said .

"Uhm...so can we spend the night together" , she asked .

Oh my God! How can a women ask such thing in front of 25 people . It's horrible . Isn't it embarrassing for her to ask such question . If I were in her place I would have died out of embarrassment . Ethan Sinclair is looking at me . Why is he looking at me?

"Manager , can you book a room for us?" , He asked .

"Uhm , yes" , I replied .

God! This is insane . This is driving me crazy . From the past 3 hours I am standing here like a statue .

Finally , the dinner is over . I changed my clothes into a t-shirt and trouser . I checked my phone and there are 25 missed calls and 20 messages from Sam . I walked out of the hotel and I am reading the messages and suddenly someone bumped into me and my phone fell on the ground .

"Jesus! Fucking ass......" ,

I stopped and turned around . It's him . It's Ethan Sinclair . What is he doing here . Shouldn't he be in the room with a girl .

"Fucking ass....What?" , he asked.

Those fucking grey eyes are driving me crazy . I couldn't stop looking at him .

" I am sorry , I thought it was someone else" , I said .

"So that's how you treat your customers , fucking ass...." , he laughed .

"I am sorry , I shouldn't have said that" , I replied.

"Aren't you the hotel manager? Nancy Bloom right " , he asked .

Wait . Shit. Did he actually remember my name . Out of all people why is it Ethan Sinclair . This is the most embarrassing moment of my life.

"Yes , I am Nancy Bloom " , I replied with my head down.

I took my phone and walked out . Why is this happening to me . Then I hear a voice and it's Ethan Sinclair .

"Nancy don't worry , I won't tell anything to the hotel management " , he shouted.
