Chapter 1

*FLASHBACK*
“Pack up your stuff now!” her mother Vickie yelled.
Kelly Evans looked at her mother in tears.
“Mom I don’t want to go!” Kelly said crying.
“You will or I send Dylan to jail! You are only 17! He’s 18! He’s legally an adult while you aren’t!” her mother yelled.
“You wouldn’t do that to David!” Kelly said.
“David wouldn’t go against me on this! Get your stuff and let’s go!” her mother yelled. Kelly sobbed as she packed up her stuff and headed out, leaving the ranch they had lived at since her mother had married her new husband who owned the ranch and ran it with his son, Dylan. Her mother took her to the airport and bought her a ticket.
“Hand me your phone,” Vickie said holding out her hand.
“Mom!” Kelly said.
“Now!” Vickie yelled. Kelly threw it at her mother and stormed off to the boarding area. She got on the plane and cried softly.
Back at the ranch......
“Dad, no one’s home,” Dylan said.
“Check upstairs,” David said. Dylan ran upstairs and saw Kelly’s room empty like no one lived there.
“Dad!” Dylan yelled.
“What is it son?” David asked.
“Kelly’s stuff is gone,” Dylan said.
“Crap,” David said.
“Dad, what’s going on?” Dylan asked.
“What’s going on is that whatever happened between you and Kelly is over, she left to go live with her father and don’t bother calling her because I have her phone and Henry won’t give her a new one and you won’t know where she is, I told you that I didn’t want you and my daughter together, it’s best to move on,” Vickie said from behind them.
“Vickie,” David said.
“David, you remember what I said,” Vickie said.
“Yes dear, “ David said.
“It will never be over, we are in love!” Dylan yelled.
“She don’t love you, Dylan, she just used you is all, you are best just to move on,” Vickie said.
“I don’t believe you!” Dylan yelled.
“Live in your little fantasy, you won’t find her,” Vickie said. Dylan ran out the door and ran to the barn and got on his horse and rode across the pasture and got to the swimming pond and got off and collapsed to the ground and screamed out in pain.
“I will find you Kelly, we will be together again, I promise you,” Dylan said to himself.
Five Years later.....
After years of searching and no luck, Dylan threw himself into ranch work. He was at the table eating. Vickie came in.
“Still moping about my daughter, don’t bother, Henry just told me she’s married now and has a baby on the way with her new husband and she has moved on from you so it’s time for you to do the same,” Vickie said smirking. Dylan glared at her and got up and put his plate in the sink and went out the door. He went to the barn and collapsed against the barn wall. David looked at him.
“Son, follow your heart,” David said.
“I am Dad, I don’t believe anything she says,” Dylan said.
“You do not have to believe her son,” David said.
“Any luck?” Dylan asked.
“My contacts found nothing but they haven’t given up,” David said.
“Nothing on Henry Evans?” Dylan asked.
“It’s like he’s a ghost,” David said.
“I can’t stop loving her Dad, she’s my soulmate,” Dylan said.
“I know son, your mom was mine, I wish I could divorce Vickie but I’m stuck because she will destroy the ranch and everything we built if I tried to,” David said.
“I’m never giving up hope,” Dylan said.
“Then don’t son,” David said.
*END FLASHBACK*
Kelly sat there in the office of her company looking over everything. She was finally able to get away from her parents watchful eyes. It’s been ten years since she was forced to leave the ranch to live with her father. They kept her from going back by threatening to destroy David and Dylan and the ranch. She couldn’t let them lose everything. She heard her father talking to her mother on the phone and her mother was selling the ranch behind David’s back. She smiled. Her best friends, Adam and Brad Thomas came in. They sat down.
“It’s done Kel,” Adam said smiling.
“Sale went through and we are the owners of the ranch,” Brad said.
“So tomorrow, you, me, Jacob, and Brad will head to the ranch and kick your mother out on her ass and once David files for the divorce and it’s finalized, we sell the ranch back to him,” Adam said. Jacob was Kelly’s son with Dylan but her father was told she adopted him as a baby.
“I’m already packed and ready to go,” Kelly said.
“Your father doesn’t know anything and he won’t know so he can’t warn your mom,” Brad said.
“I told him we were going to Disney World for vacation, he said he would meet us there, he’s in New York right now, I told him we would be flying down tomorrow afternoon but really we are flying in the morning,” Kelly said.
“Let’s close up for the day and get our stuff together,” Brad said. They closed up the company and headed out.
