The wedding🤍
India
Today is my wedding day with my bestfriend Dalton knight. My parents think he is the real KNIGHT who is saving me from all the misery. Ofcourse why not, i am 6 months pregnant and a widow. Yes i lost my lovely husband Lucas Alexander in an accident 2 weeks back. Yeah!! I know I know and i am marrying already. He was my first crush and love as far as i remember but fate was cruel. We lost him. We three were best friends from childhood, we were from same neighbourhood.
Luca had been always the charmer with his kind and sweet personality. Whereas Dalton was the silent, brooding and bad boy yet with golden heart. Both are handsome and have been heart breakers. I loved both of them. They loved me all the same. We were always inseparable. But growing up changes stuff. They went to abroad for higher studies while I graduated in my home town.
Again after their masters when they came back we were inseparable. That was 3 years ago. 5 months back we 3 got into an accident. I took hit to my head. And was in coma for 3 weeks. Whereas Dalton was in coma for whole 2 months. Thankfully nothing happened to my baby. I caressed my baby bump remembering what Luca told me when I woke up from my coma-
My thoughts were interupted by the knock on the door.
Opening the door I saw my dad smiling like cheshire cat. Rolling my eyes i let him in. I know he is sad about lucas death but is more happy about me and my baby getting a stable life.
"Come on honey its your wedding day, smile a little" dad said while caressing my head.
Thinking my baby would never see his or her dad and they wont have these moments, i started crying.
"India, i know you are hurting and telling to moveon from Luca would be cruel, but i would say give chance to dalton. He is a great man, he will look after you and th baby as his own."
I nodded while sniffing, i know Dalton, he is ummm what we say knight in the shining armor. He was always like that. And i loved him for that. But not this time. This time i needed space, neither a brand new husband nor a knight. And the thing he didn’t tell me about his “Marriage proposal” first but went behind my back and told my dad is not something i am going to let slide easily. Oh Mr. Dalton you are in for it.
“Ohhh I know that murderous look, hmm someone going to face that wrath today, i just hope it’s not me.” My dad chuckled.
Ohh your future son-in-law daddy I wanted to say but told “nobody dad just pregnancy “.
“Oh come on honey i know you, don’t blame my grandkid, just… don’t be too harsh on Dalton”. Aww my dad knows me too well. See moments like this make me worry about luca and my baby, how would it be if… he was alive today. It’s ok…. I trust god and when i know the path i am currently walking is scary or confusing i will just leave it to him to guide me through the path. I smile and hold my dad’s hand to walk me down the aisle.
The great Christian Cooper walking his daughter down the aisle for the second time.

This was incredibly immersive, it felt like a movie playing in my head.
I kept imagining it as a visual story, especially in a comic format.
I work with visual storytelling myself, and this piece really inspired me.
I’d love to chat more about it sometime if you’re open to that.
