Third person’s POV

After the war and the lost of both his parents, Aaron left home to get away from all the memories and to find himself as he has put it. Being the carefree and player that he has always been, it's hard for people not to like him. He made friends easily wherever he went and he never could find a place to call home. So it was time to go back. See his cousins and friends and who knows, he might wants to stay.

He was exited when he met his long time friend and crush Levy. But apparently he got there late. Levy now has a merman mate and a wolf mate that clearly has no good intentions and Aaron is happy to help disclose what secret she is hiding.

"I know you miss him. I'm sure he is fine." Aaron says handing Levy a beer then takes a sit beside him on the sand.

"I know." Levy nods taking the drink, "let's talk about you. Where have you been? I heard you've been everywhere." He chuckles.

"You know me. Life on the edge." Aaron shrugs.

"So I take it as you met this person you miss somewhere out there?" Levy smiles, "wanna talk about it?"

Aaron returns the smile, "my mate."

Levy’s eyes widen, "and you left her?"

"Him." Aaron corrects him, "and I didn’t leave him."

"Then what happened? You clearly miss him."

"When I met him, he had just turned 16 and I was like 20 I think." Aaron narrates looking at the peaceful waves.

"You didn't want him to feel that he is being taken advantage of." Levy whispers in understanding.

"Yes. I wondered if he even felt the link of the bond. He was so innocent. I didn’t think he had any idea." Aaron sighs.

"So you just left?"

"I had to. I couldn’t just watch him without wanting to mark him and who knows if he will even understand."

"Is he a wolf?"

"Yes."

"Then why wouldn't he understand?" Levy asks confused.

"I didn't want him to drop everything and follow me, Levy. I couldn’t be that selfish. God knows I wanted to claim him the second I met him but he was so clueless." Aaron sighs.

"What do you wanna do now?"

"I don't know."

"You have to find him. Bring him here or whatever and I'm sure he wasn't that clueless. And even if he was, I'm sure he is all grown now. He will be like what now? 22?"

"Yes in a month." Aaron smiles softly.

"Awww ain't that sweet. You know his birthday." Levy teases.

"Shut up." Aaron laughs.

"We will find him." Levy pats him on the shoulder.

"Thanks for listening, man." Aaron offers him a smile.

"Anytime."

They may have been apart for a while now but Levy knows his friend and he is determined to find his mate then bring him to him or he will join him in the search.

"Hey Ron. I finally found you." The young man smiles pulling him into a bear hug.

Aaron blinks then realisation sets in and he hugs him back, "You are really here." He whispers kissing his head.

"You left without saying goodbye." The young man whispers against his chest. "Nearly five years since I last heard from you, Ron. Why?"

Aaron could feel the pain in his voice. He slowly pulls him off his chest, "forgive me..." he caresses his cheek lovingly, "let's get inside. Come on." He smiles taking the young man's backpack from him then takes his hand walking up the stairs to his room.

Cole walks into the room slowly taking in the place.

"Come. Sit." Aaron takes his hand leading him to the couch, "You look amazing." He smiles holding his gaze.

"And you are even more handsome than the last time I saw you." Cole returns his smile,"Where have you been, Ron?"

Aaron looks away from his questioning eyes, "I don't think any amount of sorrys will make up for me leaving like I did."

"Was I so naive that you thought I wouldn't find out you are my mate?" Cole frowns getting up.

"What?" Aaron gets up, "You knew?"

Cole scoffs, "were you ever planning on coming back?"

"Of course!" Aaron replies without hesitation, "why in the world would I ever leave my mate?"

Cole laughs, "You did once. Remember?"

"I had to." Aaron whispers taking Cole's hands in his, "I couldn’t take you away from your family and everyone you loved. That would have been so selfish."

Cole closes his eyes taking a deep, "gosh I can't even be mad at you."

Aaron smiles pulling him into his arms for a long hug, "I thought of you everyday." He whispers in his hair.

"You mean that?" Cole breathes.

"With all of my heart."

"Prove it." Cole says pulling away slowly to look him on the eye.

Aaron didn't waste a second and crushed his lips on Cole's parted ones. The latter whimpers grabbing at his jacket. Their very first kiss and Aaron's heart exploded with so much love and affection he never thought he could have for anyone.

'Mate.' His wolf growls with happiness.

Aaron tosses and turn in his sleep.

'Alas my loves. The time has come for us to be together.'

'What? Who are you?"

'Soon my love.'

Aaron wakes up panting looking around the room frantically. These kind of dreams have been going on for a while now and the voice seems so familiar. He looks over at a peaceful sleeping Cole. He smiles scooting closer then kisses his cheek then drops his head back on the pillow with a sigh.
