Mysterious

Elizabeth’s POV

They burst into my lock shop. Seriously? They could have come in quietly. I watched as Kankuro and Temari started looking at all the locks. I’m not going to say anything to them. I am one hundred percent not friends with the Kazekage. In fact, I hate him. I mean he did kill my father when I was a baby. So no one can blame me. For now. Even if my father killed people. He didn’t even put him in jail! He just killed my dad. Temari came toward the counter. Darn, I’m going to have to talk to them. I sighed. “Hi. How can I help you today?” I would rather tell them to leave.

Temari looked at me. “We need one of your strongest locks.”

I looked at her. “Give me one second. I don’t keep any very strong locks in the front.” I went to the back and grabbed the lock that could keep out a tailed beast. When I got back to the front Kankuro had joined her. “Here. This is strong enough to keep out a tailed beast.” The sealing technique is my specialty. Not that anyone knows that.

Kankuro looked at me. “How are you able to make something strong enough to do that?”

I raised my chin defiantly. “None of your business. Are you going to take the lock or not?”

Temari nodded. “It will work.”

They paid and left. Thank goodness. Why did I move to the Sand Village? I closed up and went to make myself something to eat. As I was eating I started wondering why they need a strong lock. Were they planning to lock up someone strong?

Temari’s POV

I showed Gaara the lock. “The owner said it was strong enough to handle a tailed beast.” He studied it.

“She wouldn’t tell us how she was able to make it that strong though,” Kankuro said.

Gaara looked up. “Is that so?”

“Yes,” I said. I had told Kankuro we didn’t need to tell Gaara that but he thought it would be a good idea. He thought Gaara would be interested. “She didn’t seem to like us either.”

“Tomorrow I want you to bring her to me. I will see if we can get her to talk.”

Ah, so he is interested. I ignored Kankuro’s smirk. “Are you sure? She might not say anything, Gaara.”

“We will see.”

“I suppose.” I don’t think it’s a good idea to bring her if I’m honest. She seemed to be quite defiant when Kankuro asked. “Gaara, if she doesn’t tell us anything, what will we do?”

He sat back in his chair. “A lot of people talk when they are put in front of the Kazekage.”

“I believe she’ll be different.” Some people are still afraid of him because of how he used to be. "Her eyes flashed quickly with hatred when we talked to her."

"Hatred?"

"Yes." Hopefully, this changes his mind. "So maybe we should just leave her be."

"We need to know about this, Temari. If we don't, she could start doing things."

"Alright." She hasn't done anything though, I thought. "I'll be in the training area if you need me." I walked out of the room.

Kankuro's POV

"Temari seems to think it's a bad idea to bring her," Gaara observed.

"She hadn't wanted me to tell you anything," I said.

"Do you know the owner's name?"

"No." I should have asked that and then asked her about the lock. Damn.

"It doesn't matter. We will know tomorrow."

"Yes." If she says anything. "Do you want me to get her by myself? Since Temari doesn't like the idea?"

Gaara shook his head. "No. Bring Temari with you. We don't know what this person is able to do."

"Aw, Gaara. She probably only knows about locks. When we talk to her she'll probably go on and on about them."

"She knows how to make them strong. We need to know how she does that," Gaara pointed out.

"Probably just some kind of metal she uses."

"Yet you found it strange and told me. Are you regretting that?"

"Nah. I still think we should talk to her."

"And that's what we're going to do."

I nodded. "I'm going to go and try to convince Temari."

"Good luck."

"Thanks." I left the room feeling like I accomplished a good thing. I found Temari practicing her wind scythe jujutsu. I watched for a second and then said. "We're going to bring her, Temari."

"It's a bad idea. We don't know if she knows anything that's more powerful than our jutsu," she replied.

"Which is what we can figure out if we bring her here."

"Gaara's not going to find anything out, Kankuro. She doesn't like us. It's obvious."

"If she doesn't then she can explain to us why."

"Doubtful."

"So you think."

"No, Kankuro. I know. I saw the look she gave us. Didn't you? She hates us."

"She could still tell us why."

"She won't."

"Again, that's your opinion."

"You shouldn't have told Gaara about the lock."

"It was the right thing to do and you know it." Why is she so adamant that we not bring her in? "We don't even know her name."

Temari shrugged. "That's not really important. She's only selling locks."

"Locks that are stronger than a normal lock! She has to be using something to help her do that."

"You do realize she could be using sealing jutsu, right? That would help make them that strong."

I hadn't thought of that. "Well, even if that is true, we can still talk to her."

"More like interrogating her."

"Why are you standing up for her? You don't even know her!"

"She's still one of us. I feel as if I've seen her before but I can't place her."

"Maybe you can ask when we talk to her."

"Stop trying to change my mind, Kankuro. It's not going to work."

"Fine." I pulled out The Crow. "Let's both just train, shall we?"

"Okay."

"Also, you should know Gaara's expecting you to come with me tomorrow."

"Obviously."
