Chapter 1:Jones and Azure
He fell at my feet. God this idiotic man. I wipe the blood from my nose, my eyes locked on Jones. He trembles up to his feet and holds up his fists. "You can't win Azure" He says heroically, damn why do these 'heroes' always act so pathetically self-righteous. "Who says I haven't already" A smirk crawls across my face.
God that smirk, that mocking and horrible smirk. I throw my fist at them, hitting them in the nose but they laugh. They laugh. They laugh at the pain I just caused. They always do this. I drag them to the feet and slam them against a wall. I mean, we're fighting on the roof of a building, the only wall is the one that leads the staircase to this rooftop.
He slams me against the wall, holding me tightly by the sleeves near my shoulder. He leans closer and whispers in my ear. "Who are you?" I look at him through my goggles. My face is covered by one sided goggles and a hood from my cloak. He reaches for my goggles but I kick him to the floor.
They slam me down, holding me down with just one arm. They materialise a dagger with their free hand and hold it against my neck, the cold blade pressed on my Adam's apple. "You'll never find out" They smirk again, this time wider and more gleefully, like my pain makes them feel better
I drag him to his feet and slam him against the same wall he just pushed me against a few seconds prior. I press the dagger to his neck, not making a mark yet. "You going to kill me?" He seems smug but a hint of fear in his eyes. "Well that'd be boring" I say bluntly and plunge the blade into his shoulder.
As the knife stabs into my shoulder I let out a wince of pain and a groan of agony. "What's wrong?" They get so close to my face I can feel their breath on my lips, "Can Jones not deal with a little pain?" Their tone is so mocking it makes my anger boil over. I jump onto them, pushing us both off the building.
Oh shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. I am literally falling off a roof. I look to Jones as we fall, he passed out from the pain and panic. Without thinking I use my magic to pull him close to me and stop us both from crashing. We land in an empty alleyway. I leave him to bleed out on the floor as I walk away.
