Before I Loved Her

Before I loved her, I was casting my life away into a dark oblivion of self-destruction. The hatred for myself was eating away at me slowly until I was left with nearly nothing close to resembling the person that I used to be.

Her love didn’t save me but it did open my eyes to the fact that she had been there all along. Through all the pain, all the heartbreak, all the suffering; she was my rock. Before I loved her, she had proven that she was just what I needed her to be. She was somebody that was going to be there for me, always.

Before I loved her, I had no idea that she would be the one to become my everything; to be the addiction that I couldn’t get enough of. The addiction I swore I never wanted to feel again.

Before I loved her, I once loved another.

Now, I could begin with the night that everything changed between us but in order to give a real understanding of why I fell so deeply in love with her, I have to start from the very beginning on the day we first met; the day that she had shown me that she was different from all the rest.
