Pilot: The Adventure Starts
I'll admit, i lost interest in this whole pilot and i rushed it for it to reach the chapter 1, but I promise that I will deliver the best quality content I can from this series from here on out
[Opening Music]
[Music Continues]
Welcome one, welcome all to the spectacular, the astounding tale of a young man named Karter Kurc, better known as: The Mortal Flame. Tis a tale of tragedy and our hero will face many foes, but don't touch that pause or exit out, for this maybe the superhero story for you.
[calm music comes in]
But as all superhero stories go, an origin is in order. Karter wasn't anything remarkable as an 11-year-old middle schooler or at least, that's what he led others to believe. But before we get into that, our story begins somewhere else.
[Footsteps and later a ruckus in the courtroom]
Jury [banging his grovel]: Order! Order! Ferry Kurc, you have the table.
[heels walking up to the stand]
Ferry Kurc: Thank you. Now ladies and gentlemen, as you have known that later today is the event that for the past 6 years, there have been evident sightings of a full green moon 3 days before Halloween and odd occurrences following it. These odd occurrences being these mysterious shards of crystal appearing in anonymous sides of the planet and have destroyed countless cities and continents. But today will prove to bring more destruction than the last.
Government Official, General Commando [in an uninterested and annoyed tone]: Yes, Mrs. Kurc, I have my best men on it. We have been over this.
Ferry Kurc [Agitated from that comment]: you've been saying that for the past 6 years since this has been happening, and nothing has been done! Years have gone by with people dying and you could care less about it.
Government Official, General Commando [stands up and gets defensive]: Are you the government? [he then says smugly] Are we gonna trust someone who thinks that the illuminati exist?
Leader of Germany: Many of my cities and people have been destroyed from these crystals, and yet the same excuse of "we are close to concluding a solution" keeps being the result!
[a whole fight was about to occur before the judge slams the gravel]
Judge: Order! Order! Stand down, General.
[The general grumbles and take his seat as the judge allowed Ferry to continue]
Ferry Kurc: Thank you. Now, these years have been spent in fear and open ignorance [subtley looking at the general]. But there might be a way. [Sounds of a drawing board comes in] In front of you is a chart of a pattern of where specifically these shards have struck.
[The general yawns loudly to cause a distractive annoyance]
Judge: General! [The general puts up his hands in defense as the judge allows Ferry to go on]
[Ferry takes a moment to breathe in and out and continues her presentation]
Ferry Kurc: Ok, so from what I have witnessed, these crystals have struck specific parts of these continents.
[Unbeknownst to her and the court room, as she presents her theories, a streak of fire soars through the sky]
???: Faster than a speeding falling star, hotter than an asteroid, it's singe! No, that's cliche. Maybe streak [The streak of fire soars towards a neighborhood and evaporates into a boy as he falls through a house's window. He crashes into his dresser]
Boy [while rubbing his head]: Landing needs work, but progress!
???: Karter? What's going on up there? [Footsteps come towards the staircase as he tries to quickly strip off his flying costume]
Karter: Um, nothing [he tries stuffing it in his closet as the footsteps are coming up the stairs]
[Karter's Dad opens the door and finds Karter on his bed but finds a smoking burn on the floor near his dresser. He gives him a playfully suspicious glare]: You wouldn't happen to know what happened to the floor, would you?
Karter [Playing Dumb]: I don't know
Karter's Dad: What do you mean you don't know?
Karter: I don't understand what happened there [replying quickly]
Kater's Dad [taps his chin with finger as he walks towards the bed] something tells me you do know.
[Karter tries to think up something, but as he rambles on, smoke and ash start coming from his body in result of his nervousness. His dad is unconvinced by this in the slightest and just shakes his head]
Karter's Dad [sits on the edge of Karter's bed and sighs]: Karter, me and your mom talked to you about this. We made a compromise that we would work on your powers when we are all together and in somewhere private.
Karter: I know, I know. But I just wanted to see if i could master flight [sounds of him picking up a comic and showing it] like him. Electric Guy
Karter's Dad: You mean White Lightning?
Karter: Whatever. He can use his lightning powers to fly and stuff. So, i figured that maybe fire could have the same effect, and i am glad to say that i was proven right.
Karter's Dad: Landing needs work, though. [Gesturing to the burns on the floor]
[Karter responds with a scoff and replies with a mock sherlock tone] Patience, Watson.
Meanwhile, we meet Ferry as she is exiting the courthouse and heading for her car. "All they had to do was listen" Just as she is about to open the car door, she feels a cold hard grip on her arm.
[General Commando]: That wasn't very nice, Kurc.
[Pulling away from his grip with a grunt, she responds with] Well general, when the planet is dealing with cataclysmic events that could lead to the planet's downfall, there isn't much room left for sugarcoating. Not that you or your team are understanding that. [she gets in and drives away as the general grumbles as he heads back inside, clenching his fist.]
Paranoid [he said grumbling]
*An hour later*
[As Ferry is driving home, she can see flames are forming an infinity sign in the sky along with the whooping of a certain adolescent. Shaking her head, she quickly makes her way back home. Reaching home, she rushed to the backyard to the sight of laughter and Karter swirling around in the air]
Ferry: Karter Storm Kurc, get down from there!
[the streak of flame zooms down and makes an firey flare of a landing]
Karter: What? It's quiet today and me and dad made sure that no one's watching. See? [shows her that the neighborhood is deserted and no one is around or in a viewing radius]
[however, one of the neighbors is throwing out trash and waves a friendly hand to Karter and Ferry]
Ferry [She and karter return her wave as she goes back inside. As soon as the neighbor goes back inside, she puts her hands on her hips with a stern expression]: you know well that is not the point. Someone is always watching. [she looks around in a nervous manner before she takes Karter's hand and drags him inside. She takes another quick look around and closes the door].
Ferry: Benjamin Ryder Kurc! Get down here, now!
[Coming down in makeshift trash can armor and blocking his face with a trashlid] Yes, Honey? [he said in a nervous laugh. When he looked up from the trashlid, his wife looked anything but amused or in any way happy.]
Benjamin: Uh, i'm guessing that's a no on the celebration dinner.
Meanwhile
We find the general driving back to his own base, still bitter about the courtroom meeting earlier. Getting close to base, he gets his access and enters the base. Once inside, he salutes his comrades and superiors as he goes to a secret compartment. The scene gets a sci fi ominous feel as he reaches a door. Once opened, there is a live feed of face of a Goblin-like creature looking at him. With the door closed, he would reply:
Commando: Keeage, when are you going to start the invasion?! Our time is running out as that ferry and half of the globe is onto us.
[he presses his left chested badge, which shows a hologram with purple pinpoints] The beacons have been planted and are just being ready for activation.
Keeage: Patience, we will begin soon once the green moon hits. Just a few more hours. In the meantime, keep up appearances until the time is ready.
Meanwhile, back to the Kurc residence, it seems like the little stunt pulled earlier wasn't going to be blown off anytime soon
Benjamin: Look, honey. I had to give him that much. You are only 11 once.
Ferry: We can never be too safe, ben. [She opens the blinds to show him the damage the crystals close to the neighborhood have caused] people are worried enough; they don't need another shock.
[As the two are fighting, Karter hears it over as he is forming small fire rings over his head in morbidity. As the fight goes on, he decides to distract himself with a little Monkey Bong. It doesn't help much]
Ferry [is a bit calmer now]: We have to be more aware and cautious. With another few hours to go, we have only minutes to get ready in case the shards show up here. The last thing we all need are for the neighbors to discover that our son is... [a moment passes, then a sigh] different.
[Unbeknownst to them, Karter is listening in from his bedroom door. Leaning against the door, he makes a small flame as he snaps.]
Ferry: Come with me [she goes to the shed and flips a shovel like switch. Once she does, a secret hallway showing a room with a space pod appears.] The invasion is due to happen any minute, you go warn the neighbors to stay inside.
Benjamin: Ferry, what is this?
Ferry: Our son's escape.
Not too long after, Ferry brings Karter to the pod
Karter: What the heck's going on? Where's dad?
Ferry: Your father has gone to warn everyone, you need to go.
But before any further action could be taken, a loud siren erupted from the sky, and from that siren, the crystals broke and from them, came the invaders. As soon as the sounds of screams and chaos erupted, Ferry pushed her son in.
Karter [banging on the glass]: Mom! [he tries melting the glass, but to no avail]
[Before another word, she activates the lift off. Just as the invaders barge in, the pod lifts off, with the last image Karter seeing is his mother being overwhelmed and taken]
Karter: MOM!
[As the pod zooms off into the abyss of space, Karter tries to use his flames to break free and help his family, but to also no avail.] Eventually burning himself out, he sits down, tears streaming down. His only home, now taken over. His family, likely dead. Where he'll end up, well i guess that's for me to know and for you to find out.
Author's Note: I apologize for the rushed quality of this. I assure you that i will take my time to writing chapter 1. I hope you all enjoy this.
