Chapter 1
Delis stood at the edge of the cliff, his eyes fixed on the horizon. He had been walking for days, searching for an artifact he couldn't quite name. As he gazed out at the vast expanse of the plains below, he felt a sudden gust of wind whip through his hair.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" a voice said from behind him.
Delis turned to see a woman standing a few feet away. She was dressed in a long flowing gown of deep grey, and her hair was tied back in a neat braid covered with a cloak. But it was her eyes that caught Delis' attention. They were a piercing shade of green, and seemed to hold a wisdom far beyond her years.
"Who are you?" Delis asked, taking a step back.
The woman smiled. "My name is Anathema. I'm a stewardess of the Hair Ethereal Horse stable."
Delis had heard of the Hair Ethereal Horses before. They were said to be the most beautiful and powerful creatures in all the land. But he had never met anyone who worked with them before.
"What brings you here?" asked Anathema, her eyes fixed on Delis.
"I'm searching for something," Delis said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Anathema nodded knowingly. "Many come to these plains in search of something. But few find what they're looking for."
Delis felt a pang of sadness at her words. He had come so far, and sacrificed so much, all in the hopes of finding what he was looking for.
"What do you mean?" Delis asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
Anathema hesitated for a moment, as if considering her words carefully. "The Hair Ethereal Horses are powerful creatures, capable of great things. But they are also dangerous. Only those who are pure of heart and strong of spirit can hope to work with them."
Delis felt a flicker of hope at her words. Perhaps this was what he was searching for. Perhaps he was meant to work with these creatures, to harness their power and use it for good.
"How can I work with them?" Delis asked, his voice filled with a newfound determination.
Anathema smiled. "Come with me. I'll show you."
