Eric's lonely life
Erick abaixa a cabeça e responde: “Sim, mamãe.
Erick looked at Harry, his eyes full of fear. He knew what would come next. Harry always chose him as a target for his cruel pranks.
“Leave me alone, Harry,” pleaded Erick. “I do not want problems.”
“Problems?” laughed Harry. “You’re the problem, weirdo. You’re a loser and you’ll always be a loser. And now you’re going to pay for it.”
Harry approached Erick and started to push him. Harry’s friends laughed and surrounded him, leaving Erick with no way out.
Erick tried to defend himself, but he was too weak and clumsy. He had no friends to help him and no one seemed to care what was going on.
Finally, Harry pulled away, laughing out loud.
“See you later, weirdo,” he said, before leaving with his friends.
Erick was left there, alone and humiliated. He knew this wasn’t the end. Harry always came back to torment him.
Erick walked through the corridors of the school, observing the movement of the other students while remaining isolated. He sighed, looking down as he walked, thinking about how lonely and unpleasant his life was. “I should have been born in another life”, he thought to himself.
Upon arriving in the classroom, he saw Iozumi Miyamura, a boy as nerdy as he was, but who seemed not to mind the isolation. In fact, everyone seemed to like him, perhaps because his father was the school principal and his family was well known in town. Erick looked to the side, seeing Harry laughing with his friends at the next table.
“Why does he always pick me to pick on?“, Erick wondered, as he sat down at his desk. He knew it wasn’t because of his school performance, as he always got good grades, but it seemed that Harry enjoyed teasing the weak. Erick rolled his eyes and tried to concentrate on the lesson, ignoring Harry’s giggles.
At the end of class, as he left the room, Harry was waiting for him at the door. “So, weirdo, how was class?” said Harry, mocking Erick. “Why don’t you try to be a little more normal, man? Maybe that way people will like you.”
Erick huffed, trying to ignore Harry as he walked towards his locker. But Harry followed, continuing to tease him. Eric turned around, irritated. “Why don’t you cut it out, Harry? Don’t you have anything better to do?”
Harry chuckled, moving closer to Erick. “Of course I do, but teasing you is so much fun. I think you should be grateful I’m spending time with you.” Erick rolled his eyes, grabbing his books from the locker and trying to get away from Harry as quickly as possible.
As he walked down the hall, he saw a strange book lying on the floor. He stopped, curious, picking up the book. That’s when he saw Pluto’s list, and he felt a shiver run down his spine. He didn’t know what it was, but he knew it was something important. He looked around, trying to figure out who had left the book there, but he didn’t see anyone around.
“What is this?” he whispered to himself as he looked at the cover of the book. He felt a strange feeling in his stomach, like something big was about to happen. He tucked the book into his backpack, feeling a little nervous.

While walking through the school corridors, Erick came across Oizumi, his classmate. Oizumi always seemed to have everything under control, his neat appearance and his calm and confident demeanor. However, Erick knew that behind that nerdy and lonely facade, Oizumi was fake, ignorant and arrogant.
“Hi, Oizumi,” greeted Erick, trying to look friendly.
“Ah, hi Erick”, replied Oizumi, with a fake smile. “How are you?”
“Eh, I’m fine, I guess,” said Erick uncertainly. “I’m just having some problems with Harry, that idiot.”
Oizumi smirked. “Harry? Oh, he’s just a goofball, don’t worry about him.”
“But he pesters me every day,” Erick replied. “I can not take it anymore.”
“You need to learn to defend yourself,” said Oizumi, as if it were obvious. “You’re so weak, always hiding and avoiding problems. No wonder people see you as an easy target.”
Erick felt embarrassed and irritated by Oizumi’s words. He knew he wasn’t physically strong, but he also didn’t want to be like Harry, who only knew how to intimidate others. He preferred to avoid unnecessary conflict.
“It’s not that simple,” said Erick, defending himself. “I just want peace, you know? I don’t want to go around fighting.”
Oizumi shrugged. “Well, if you don’t want to defend yourself, there’s nothing I can do for you. It’s your choice.”
Erick sighed and continued on his way to the classroom. He felt more alone than ever. How could he defend himself if not even his classmates were on his side?

Erick walked slowly down the street, watching the sky close quickly. The clouds accumulated more and more, in a dark gray tone, and the sunlight was no longer seen. However, there was something wrong with the clouds: they were dyed red, as if blood was spreading across the entire sky.
Birds were flying in all directions, trying to escape whatever was coming. The wind was beginning to gust, knocking the leaves off the trees and causing the branches to bend. The air was heavy, as if something bad was about to happen.
People were running into their homes, closing their windows and doors against the storm. Cars honked, trying to get home as fast as possible. But Erick remained in the middle of the street, feeling the strong wind hit his face and watching the blood red sky.
Erick felt a chill go through his entire body, as if something very bad was about to happen. He couldn’t understand what was happening, but he knew something terrible was coming.
Erick turned slowly, feeling a chill run down his spine. The red sky seemed to have intensified even more, as if it were on fire. And then he saw her: a female figure, standing a few feet away, staring at him with eyes as black as night.
She was impossibly pale, almost like a china doll, but with a beauty that was disturbingly perfect. Her long black hair fell in curls to her waist, and she wore a long black dress that trailed along the floor, as if she were floating.
Erick felt immobile, unable to move or speak, as the figure continued to stare at him with a blank stare. he looked around, looking for help or a means of escape, but there was no one in the streets, and he could feel the pressure in his ears, as if something was about to happen, the boy was completely baffled as he watched the strange looking figure. take the book from your backpack. He tried to protest, but the words seemed to get lost in his throat.
The figure looked at Erick and said that he was Pluto’s chosen one and that his people were waiting for him. Then she marked with a red marker Erick’s name in the book she had just taken, writing: “Erick-the lost prince”. The feeling the young man had was that he was living in a surreal dream.
“You are Pluto’s chosen one,” she said in a firm almond voice. “Your people await you.”
Erick was confused and didn’t know what to say. “What do you mean by ‘chosen of Pluto’?” he asked.
“You are the only one who can save us,” said the figure. “The Pluto colony is in danger, and we need someone with your skills to lead the fight against our enemies.”
Eric was still baffled. “I don’t understand. Why me?”
The figure smiled enigmatically. “Because you are the lost prince. The only one who can unite the people of Pluto and lead them to victory.”
Eric didn’t know what to say. He barely had any friends on Earth, much less on another planetary colony. But something in the figure’s voice made him want to believe her.
He then woke up suddenly and found himself in her bed, still stunned by what had just happened, he took the book and examined the page where her name was written. It was as if the strange figure really had
He tried to remember more details about the dream, but all that came to his mind was the feeling that there was something important he needed to do, the book seemed to contain some answers, but Erick had no idea how to start deciphering what was happening. written on it.
Suddenly, his mother knocked on the bedroom door and shouted again for him to get up. Erick put the book under his pillow and got up, dragging himself out of bed.
His mother was already in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. She looked at Erick with disdain.
“Finally awake, huh? You need to start working harder in school, boy. I’m not going to be paying for your education for nothing,” she said, throwing a plate of cold food on the table.
Erick sighed, he was used to his mother’s criticism. She always treated him like a burden and a disappointment. He knew he would never be good enough for her.
He ate in silence, wondering what to do about the book. He couldn’t tell his mother about the strange figure or the dream, it would probably take him to a psychiatrist and he would be diagnosed with some kind of mental disorder.
Erick decided to put the book in his backpack and take it to school with him. Maybe he could find some clue or information that would help him understand what was going on. The sky was normal gray and cloudy, he couldn’t see the strange figure anymore. Maybe it was just a dream after all. But why was the book marked with his name? Erick decided he needed to find out what was going on, whatever the cost.
Before leaving the house, Erick felt the sharp pain of his mother’s slap on his face before hearing her harsh words. He flinched in response, clutching the side of his face where his mother’s hand had hit him. “You need to stop being so weird, Erick. People are going to start talking,” she said, looking at him with disdain.
He didn’t answer, knowing any more words would only make the situation worse. He grabbed his backpack and headed out the door, ignoring his mother’s final words: “And I got a call from school. Harry’s parents have complained that you’ve been pestering their son. I hope you stop this behavior at once.” for all.”
Erick sighed deeply, frustrated with the situation. He didn’t understand why Harry was targeting him. Harry was a bully, and he picked on anyone he could bully to make himself feel better about himself.
He walked towards the school, lost in his own thoughts.
When he finally arrives at the school, he sees Harry in front of the building, waiting for him. Eric tries to avoid the boy, but Harry follows him, calling him names and pestering him.
“Hey, weirdo! I don’t think you got the message. My parents didn’t like what you did, and you’re going to pay dearly for it,” said Harry, a smirk on his face.
“I didn’t do anything, Harry! You’re the one pestering me all the time,” replies Erick, trying to remain calm.
“Oh really? And what is it then?” says Harry, showing a red mark on his arm. “You hit me, weirdo! And I’ll make you pay for it.”
Harry’s henchmen held Erick down as he took more punches and kicks. He tried to defend himself, but it was in vain, it was many against one. After a few minutes, Harry and his henchmen left him lying on the floor, bruised and bloodied.
He tried to get up, but he felt pain in his whole body, holding his book tightly and realized that his hand was dirty with blood.
“They’ll pay for this”, thought Erick as he tried to get up.
As soon as class starts, the classroom door opens and a young woman enters, catching everyone’s attention. The teacher asks her to introduce herself and the young woman approaches the front of the room.
“My name is Persephone and I come from Europe. I’m very happy to be here and I hope I can be friends with all of you”, she said with a friendly smile.
Erick was shocked to recognize the figure of the woman from his dreams the night before. He wondered if he was dreaming again, but her presence was so real he knew that wasn’t the case.
“I know you,” said Erick, raising his hand shyly.
Persephone looked at him with a strange look and replied, “I’m sorry, but I don’t remember meeting you before.”
Erick estava confuso e desapontado, mas não queria parecer estranho para o resto da turma, então abaixou a mão e sentou-se. Enquanto o professor continuou com a aula, Erick não conseguiu parar de pensar em Perséfone e no que ela poderia querer com ele.
