The Graffiti Ghost

In a huge city (Dallas) on a dark, scary and a very stormy night on a Friday, the moon shone brighter than it ever had, as wolves howled louder than the barks of a dog. “z, zz, z, zz, z, zz” the street lights flickered making a very dull and faint sound. Most of what could actually be heard was the sound of lightning, thunder and the heavy falling of raindrops. The stars that were supposed to be in the sky were no where to be found and, there was not a single person to be seen. It was very strange because normally this city is full of people.

Millie was coming back home from school that day. She had a science project that was due 2 days later. She decided to stay in school late that day so she could finish her project and submit it in early. Once she was done, she decided to use the alleyway that was a narrow passageway at the back of her school to go back home. What she didn’t know was, that was the BIGGEST mistake of her life……

Millie had entered the alleyway and was listening to music on her phone using her headphones. The walls of the alleyway were full of graffiti. Millie noticed something strange and very unusual. In her head, “Something isn’t right about these graffiti designs. I just can’t figure out what it is.” She then realizes that the graffiti weren’t just any designs but were of people who went… MISSING!

Millie was terrified because she remembered seeing those exact people on the news just a few days ago. She started speeding her pace and started walking faster and faster. But for some reason, she suddenly stopped. Millie realized that as much as she walked, she was basically going in a circle because she would end up in the same place over and over and over again. The alleyway would never end. She started panicking and freaking out. ’Is this it? Is this the end? Am I going to make it out of here?” Thoughts start flooding her head.

After a while, she became tired and decided to sit down on the ground. Whilst she was putting her hands on her ground, she felt something as hard as a rock under her right hand. She decided to pick it up and it turned out to be a……… SKULL. Millie was completely FREAKING OUT. She through it back to the ground and the skull broke unleashing a squad of cockroaches. “ewwww” she said. She tried not to step on anyone of them. She then attempted to call her mum but there was no signal. All she could do was walk around until she found a way out. “How do I get out of here??”

About an hour passed and Millie was still trapped in that never ending alleyway. She was really hungry and thirsty but she couldn’t do anything about it. She removed her headphones and put them into her backpack. Whilst she was putting her headphones in her backpack, she noticed something scaly and green moving about 25 steps away from her. It turned out to be, a snake. Not just any snake but an Eastern Green Mamba which is one of the most poisonous snakes ever to exist. “Why do these things always end up happening to me?” Millie starts making conclusions in her head.

She pulls out her history textbook from her bag and uses it to smash the snake. The snake stops moving and stays very still. A disgusting, sticky, greenish slimy substance comes out of the snake. Millie felt sick as soon as she saw that substance. She tries to forget what had happened and starts listening to music once again. But this time, she doesn’t use her headphones.

Millie starts having the instincts that someone is watching her. She starts to shiver and get goosebumps. A dark but faint shadow crossing what looked like the end of the alleyway catches Millie’s eyes. Now this completely scares her. She turns on the flashlight on her phone and starts walking towards that direction. Whilst she was walking, she heard whispers calling her name and sounds of people screaming from the walls surrounding the alleyway.

For some reason, Millie wasn’t that frightened. This was probably because she had already faced a lot of terror that day. Anyways, she walked for about 10 minutes, but she didn’t find out what could have been the cause of that shadow. “Maybe I was just hallucinating. I mean, a lot of crazy things have happened today.” Suddenly, I loud voice spoke. “I see you. You can run but you can not hide. Your trapped in my alleyway for the rest of your LIFE. I think you should start making yourself comfy.”

“Th-This is it. I-I should’ve listened to mum’s w-warnings about this place. I-I’m going to be the next person on the news.” Millie starts to remember the days her mum used to warn her about going into the alleyway. “Now, Millie my darling, I have warned you about the alleyway many times and I’m warning you once again. NEVER and when I say NEVER use that alleyway. It’s dangerous and not safe. I don’t want you going near that alleyway.”

Millie sits down and starts to cry. “What have I done?” A shadow of a man appears right In front of her. He was wearing a cowboy hat; a tight shirt and jeans and he was holding spray cans. “HA, HA, HA, its time to die little one. You made a huge mistake coming into my alleyways. Now, I’m going to do to you what I did to every other person who came here. “Why, why are you doing this? What did these people and I do that you would want to kill us?”

The shadowy figure starts to explain what had happened. “It was my 15th birthday and my dad got me a bunch of spray cans because he knew, how much I loved art. I used those spray cans everyday to design my room and a bunch of canvases. But when I went to school, I used to get bullied because of my obsession with spray painting graffiti. I used to get bullied. I was going home one day and I used the alleyway. A bunch of my bullies followed me and took my spray cans to spray me. I then thought that why should you live and do something you love to do when no one would actually appreciate it? I then burned all of my spray cans the next day but things went wrong. My shirt caught on fire and that’s when… my life ended.”

“I have been trapped here ever since then and I’m going to kill every single person who dares to use this way.” He then uses fire and kills Millie. After Millie’s body was completely ashes, he made a graffiti portrait of Millie as part of the other people who went missing and died there.

Millie’s mom on the other side was really worried about Millie since it was midnight and Millie hadn’t returned. She called the cops and they started their investigation. 3 days had passed and Millie was not found. At that point, Millie’s mum realized that Millie had disobeyed her and used the alleyway. The Graffiti Ghost still lives and is looking for more people who dare use his alleyway…………
