"What an interesting idea to write a book of poems about house cats. T S Elliot wrote more fantastical poems about cats but these poems seem to be based on the reality of real cats lives.. Cats in shelter or on the streets or first coming into a new home. The vacuum cleaner would be frightening for a cat upon first hearing it. And it perfectly captures the cat's p.o.v. The grammar is fist class and it reads with ease."

Cute animal poems
"Poems Written By the House Cat by Allison Thompson is a delightful collection of poems about the antics of a cat. There is some that are heartwarming about the cat waiting for a long period of time at an animal shelter with the hope and dream of one day being adopted, seeing other animals being adopted and nearly despairing before finally being adopted himself. Then there are some really funny ones about the silly little things the cat does. The rhyming scheme is delightfully simple. I could see this book being an excellent way to introduce poetry to kids who love cats."
