Alone

A new married couple in France were living happily in their small 2 bedroom apartment. They were Cindy and Andrew. They were married for 2 years. But they were childless. They decided to move into a new house. The house had 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 4 balconies, 1 kitchen and 1 dining room. The land owner handed them the keys, saying that- "The past owner of the apartment disappeared recently. So there are furnitures and things that belongs to the owners. Please do return them". Or in french,"L'ancien propriétaire de l'appartement a disparu récemment. Il y a donc des meubles et des choses qui appartiennent aux propriétaires. Merci de les retourner". Andrew had to go to work. So he told Cindy to clean the house and when he comes back with their belongings from their old apartment, he will help. Cindy goes inside the house. She goes to the bathroom first to clean. She finds alot of makeup smeared arround and also... Something splashed red on the sink..? She just convinces herself that its just residue. But as much as she tries to clean it, it doesn't come off. So then she goes to the couch. She takes off the cushion in disbelief, to see a school book for elementary school, a ID card and a.. Iphone 7? But the landowner told them that the owners disappeared 2 months ago.. But IPhone 7 is from 2016... She also notices a old IPhone charger next to it. She quickly goes and charges it. After it was charged, she saw 47 missed calls from someone. She calls the landowner and tells him everything. The land owner stutters but he takes everything. Then after cleaning the whole house, she goes to greet her new neighbors. A neighbor tells her something that she wasn't ready to hear. The neighbor tells her that-

"The apartment you just moved into has been locked since 2016. A family with a child lived there before you. The mom had hung herself up after a fight with the dad. The dad and child then ran away from home an that was the last time we saw them."

Cindy calls her husband really fast and he comes home after hearing the whole story. Cindy closes all the windows and doors and hands the keys and everything to the landowner. She closes the door. While having a chat with the landowner, they suddenly hears a loud knock from the apartment. But Cindy remembers that she closed everything. Then they quickly left.

And now they are living happily in another house which isn't haunted.
