Chapter 1: A Christmas Surprise
Nestled in the cottage. Huddled in front of the fireplace it was no way Misty was.getting up to go shovel the sidewalk in front of her house. It had been snowing since 12:00 am this morning the last snow flake had finally fell 30.minutes ago. It was 6:00 am
Outside her window Misty could see the serenity of fresh snow covering everything everywhere.
She was glad she did not have to go in to work today. She would be getting dressed soon to have the traditional Christmas breakfast with her family up at the Big House. She was glad for her privacy growing up with eight older brothers always seemed a little daunting. However, she loved to spend time with family and friends during the holidays.
She did feel a little lonely at times being a little isolated in this particular area. Oh well. She went into the bathroom to run water for her bath. She believed she heard a thump outside her door. As she came out the bathroom she saw an old pick up Ford drive away. She peaked outside her door -five baby kittens were lying in a basket on a soft blanket meowing softly. They didn’t look more than a week old. There were five baby bottles filled with milk in a box next to the basket with a Christmas card saying Merry Christmas. Well Misty, I said to myself, I guess.I am not off work after all. today. I am going to have to open the Veterinary clinic briefly to examine my new pets. Smiling she brought the kittens into their new home.
