Chapter 1: a monster yearning for rebirth
There is something in this world that makes it impossible for me to love it.
I fear nothing in this world, will I have sentimental value for.
I fear I am my greatest nightmare.
What does it mean to be human? What does it mean to be yourself?
Deep in my body, past the bones, blood, and organs lies a space provided for my soul but it is vacant. The void I feel is real,it’s the void that makes me feel as if I wasn’t human. The void makes me terrified, as it’s dark and I see nothing. Once our sight is gone our senses heighten and a part of our brain becomes nothing. Where in that void should someone find comfort? We fear what we cannot see, we fear what we cannot understand, we fear what we cannot control. When will I come to understand I have no soul, that I have no human characteristics? I had once experienced hunger but now I eat because it is expected of me. The only emotion I feel is sadness. My stomach doesn’t growl In hunger yet the first thing I do is eat because as a monster hiding in human skin, I am expected too. I yearn for the day I find a soul, I yearn for the day I become human. I yearn for the day I am happy.
