Abby Larson grew up in a small town near Savannah, Georgia. She graduated high school and went off to college. She went to Stanford University and graduated with a degree in marketing and soon got her masters and became COO of Riker Marketing Agency. She kept in touch with her family back home and would FaceTime them a lot and they would make trips out to see her. She rarely came back to Georgia. She only did for her grandparents funerals. She managed to avoid him each time she visited home. She had a boyfriend through high school. They were each other’s firsts and planned their future together. They even planned to attend the same college together. But the night before she left, he came to her and told her that he wasn’t going with her. He told her that they were going in different directions and it was best to let go and move on with their lives separately. She begged him to reconsider but he told her he couldn’t go with her and walked away from her, breaking her heart. Her family avoided talking about him when they were with her. She had walked in on her parents talking one evening. They were talking about her ex and how he does work for them and that he became a very successful contractor. She smiled and changed the subject. She looked up and saw Luke Riker, CEO of Riker Marketing and one of her best friends.
“Abs,” Luke said.
“Hey what’s up,” Abby said.
“Thinking about everything again,” Luke said.
“I’m just worried about my family,” Abby said. She heard there was a hurricane hitting the east coast and it would hit close to her family home and she was waiting for word from her family to make sure they were okay.
“You have vacation days saved up, as soon as you hear from them, go home and be with them,” Luke said.
“I haven’t been home in three years,” Abby said.
“Because you are avoiding him,” Luke said.
“I’m not avoiding anyone,” Abby said.
“Yes you are,” Luke said.
“Nope, he made his choice, he wanted to go his own way, so I went mine, I’m perfectly happy,” Abby said. They heard the elevator and looked up and saw who was there.
“Daddy!” Anna said.
“Hey little bug,” Luke said. She ran into his arms. Anna was Luke’s 5 year old daughter with his husband, Justin, who was walking up to them.
“Hey babe,” Justin said.
“Hey baby,” Luke said.
“Hey J,” Abby said.
“Hey Abs,” Justin said.
“Mommy!” Anna said.
“Hey squirt,” Abby said. Anna hugged Abby. Anna has called her Mommy since she started talking because she is technically Luke and Abby’s daughter as Abby was their surrogate. She supplied the egg and Luke supplied the sperm and they did IVF. They explained it to Anna once she could understand. Abby was her mother when it counted. Luke and Justin were her parents and Abby stepped in as her mom when needed.
“How was summer school baby girl?” Luke asked.
“It was great, we have a field trip next week to the zoo!” Anna said.
“Wow I will have to see if I can take off to go with you,” Luke said.
“Daddy J is going,” Anna said.
“I want to come too,” Luke said.
“Can Mommy come too?” Anna asked.
“I will probably be working sweetie,” Abby said.
“Please Mommy!” Anna said.
“We can close the office that day,” Luke said.
“Okay,” Abby said.
“Yea!” Anna said. Abby’s phone beeped. She looked at it.
“Hey sis, we all are okay, but the house isn’t, a tree fell on it, there’s a lot of damage, Dad got hurt trying to get it off the house though,” Aaron texted.
“Oh god, okay I’ll come home,” Abby texted.
“Okay sis, let me know when you are coming,” Aaron texted. She looked at Luke, Justin, and Anna.

Just want to clarify that if you don't like the way I write my stories, you don't have to read them. You can move on to another book if you don't like my style. Everyone has different styles. This is mine. If I didn't have the "he said she said" stuff then how would anyone know who said what. It's how I've always written. I'm not a professional writer okay. I'm not doing this for money. It's a way for me to escape from real life and relieve stress from the day. So if you do not like how I write, you don't have to continue reading and you can just move along. I don't mean to sound harsh but I'm just tired of reviews about how I write or comments about it. So I am saving you all the trouble and putting this message to all of you. Please I ask you not to bother with reviews or comments if you don't like how I write or don't like the story. I only want to see positive comments and reviews. It's all I ask thank you
